Finally got my GE60 2PE. Looks awesome, and keyboard is great.

Must say, as a sound snob that usually hates cheap sounding headphones, the Dynaudio speakers are very good.

Heating could be better since my hand when playing games is too near the heating vent, and I have big hands. Might not be an issue for GE70 users since width is wider.

Ran D3 and had around 60-70 deg temps with fan spinning fast. Haven't tried other games though.

But I read somewhere that GE60 gets really hot when gaming sad.gif

Quite hot but tolerable. Definitely needs cooling system, and if playing long hours, may need external keyboard. Based from experience using my Apache Pro.

New MSI GE60-2PE user reporting in! biggrin.gif

BTW, I was recommended not to go for Windows update as "blue screen" problem will occur. Is this true?
Advice needed...

Welcome to the club! Though I didnt experience blue screen problem yet (and hopefully won't). Though one quip I have with the default setting is the power management, that defaults have my notebook sleeping after 30 mins even when on power cable, on High Performance.

Any GE60 users experiencing Wifi drops? I checked power management and wifi adapter settings, it should not be sleeping, but everytime I return from a long AFK (probably ate dinner or went out a bit), I get connection drops.

Possible also from my router or Windows 8 Intel Driver issue but I just like to ask if any of you experienced this as well.

Thanks!

Is it using Intel wifi card? Do you try driver from intel website?

Thank you bro, found it. Hopefully this fixes the dropping issue.

1. RAM usage super high? 3 displays and then open steam/origin/chrome already eat 60ish% RAM. Previously it was even worse when I set Optimus to automatically choose between nV or iGFX, but even after I set everything to run via nV the RAM is still high. Any tips?

2. Laptop unable to wake after a long display turned off. I know that the laptop doesn't sleep coz my Logitech G13 clock still moves, I set my power option to only turn off display after 5 minutes of inactivity, but it just stuck when I tried to send keyboard/interrupt to turn the display back on.

Welcome to the club!

For your first concern, check what apps are eating your RAM.

For your second concern, check the power settings further. My experience (GE60 Apache Pro), even if I set it to just turn off display after 10 mins, it does hibernate after 20 minutes. This setting can be found while digging deep into the power settings advanced menu.
