Can upgrade, but need to worry PSU (180W not enough, use battery boost wear out battery faster ) also if go for GTX780M. Heat also another problem (100W TDP) , dont want to kick in cooler boost (50+ db) every time (occasionally I play NFS Rivals every 20 mins). Currently, no planning for upgrade,

4930MX is really powerful, but 180W PSU really can supply 4930MX + GTX780M under heavy load?

Normal condition surely no problem, but at least twin fan + large PSU for such combination.

Relax , what I hope is GTX770M is not obsolete within 1 year. Currently, I quite satisfy with my GT70 except some usb 3.0 issue with seagate portable hdd. Of course, potential customer of MSI will hope some features for top end model which I think is reasonable.

Before that, you also want to sell your powerful GT70 2OD, somehow upgrade already with 32GB ram + 4800MQ + SSD.

9th generation GCN? isn't GCN only in the 2nd gen?

HD7k = GCN 1.0
HD7790, R9 260, 260X = GCN 1.1
Rx 200 (less 280X) = GCN 2.0

True, but it seems they are rushing the GX series. And MSI refreshes their products often, and I do mean very often.

OMG RM85 for a sticker!

Sharing info on GE40 upgrade.

I finally got MSI service center to swap the 750GB HDD with a 1 TB SSHD. A simple upgrade but the warranty sticker got in the way.

The charge is a standard RM85 (same price at all SC). Very expensive sticker indeed since I opt not to have them factory restore the new drive. Didn't want to leave laptop there, so I used my own 4 recovery DVDs.

Recovery went well. I chose full restore and it created and partitioned the new 1TB drive into several partitions, including recovery partitions (Yay!)

SSHD is noticeably faster. (More Yay!) Opening programs now is in a blink of an eye! Haven't tried gaming yet.

Unfortunately, I didn't see any option of setting the sizes of the partitions OS_install and Data. And upon upgrading to Windows 8.1, it created another recovery partition in between the two. Sigh.

Anyone know how I can increase the size of Data and shrink OS_install? I certainly don't need almost 600GB in OS and 300GB in Data is tiny. The problem now is the hidden recovery partition in between. Is it safe to move that?
