i need to wait ram arrive first... im in Batu pahat now...

Edit: regarding RAM bye bye warranty

"Answer
MSI Intel Haswell device supports DDR3L memory. If you want to add memory on your 4th generation Intel® Core™ i7/i5 Processor platform, please make sure the additional RAM is compatible with your device. MSI recommend customer to use DDR3L 1.35V, not DDR3 1.5V. Our laptops have best stability/support when running with DDR3L. (Warning: Unauthorized changes of non MSI parts will lose the global warranty. Please check detailed warranty info with your local dealers or following link.) http://www.msi.com/service/warranty/ "

Yes. We have NO IDEA how to do all that weird stuff.

Good to have an official MSI rep in the house, welcome!

@unseen83: "Recommend" brah, "recommend". Although I reckon EVERYBODY would be better off with LoVo anyway. Myself will be changing to LoVo as soon as I finish my SSD project.

Ya. Brother storm88 price is cheap. I even recommend people getting LoVo's from him as well.
Ya, but we all can agree from your previous quote. "depends on luck"  laugh.gif

ANYWHO, I manage to get a hold of MSI-MY, and luckily,(and hopefully) a colleague of his, will be monitoring our thread for further clarification. rclxms.gif

I too officially recommends to my friend to get from him. Friendly and good service by bro storm88. cheers.gif

I STILL think "non-MSI parts" here means more everything that is NOT RAM and Storage. MSI-NB will have to clarify lah.

Go slow on asking questions to msi official. Later, he got afraid and run away from this thread.

I'm quite unsure. I asked the shopkeeper where I previously bought my GE60-2OC and he said it's fine to open and add your own ram or hdd, but as long as you don't touch other stuffs inside the computer itself then no problem. As for MSata, Mr Storm 88 said can be extended to any value. And I've heard a forumer here added a daughterboard to his GE40. That too unsure. as for normal HDD, I think you can put up to 1 TB. If you have the moolah, then opt for the Crucial M500 960GB SSD that costs almost to 2k. brows.gif

Nobody added a daughterboard to his GE40. That guy imported his GE40 lock stock and barrel from the US simply so that he could get the one with SSD + HDD.

The empty daughterboard ALONE costs RM500 from MSI. I can get a 240GB SSD with that kind of money easily, BUT that adapter is THE ONLY WAY you can RAID 2 mSATAs together. There is NO third party adapter that can achieve that, so RM500 might be worth it if you want RAID speeds from your mSATA.

As for slots, YES the daughterboard comes with TWO mSATA slots, or at least the one for the GE40 does.
