thanks for the feedback bro, 20% performance gain is a lot..don't know why my Geforce Experience only detect 311.83, probably its the MSI own driver i not too sure..will check on the NVIDIA website in a while..hopefully the update can be done n run smoothly
*
Yor welcome, for MSI own drivers, I suggest you just download Realtek, Bios, Killer N1202, firmware etc from MSI website.

Nvidia, Intel drivers just update from respective website, even Windows update will automatically update intel driver as well.

I hope MSI comes up with new 14", one without optical drive and please don't misrepresent the "options". Advertised responsibly. Currently, talked about mSata RAID, but got * and fine print. When go to shop, almost impossible to get. Also, please don't penalise customer who want to upgrade by charging RM85 simply to replace warranty sticker.

I like d specs but my next lappy will not be MSI if continue to misrepresent specs in advert & squeeze   customers who upgrade.
*
Totally Agree!! RM85 is not a small amount though where we can diy ourself if not because of that warranty sticker!!

Now I quite envy with MSI China set, all at least come with SSD/msata and low price plus importantly, open the back cover freely!!

new GE line up?

When you look at the picture review in CHina Website, you will be somehow mixed feeling for this new GE lineup.

Thanks for the link, now all GS series become not really affordable, for the same price range, people may prefer GT60/70 basic series. Of course, if buyer is a slim maniac then he/she may still go for GS series.

Is the performance of GTX860M better than GTX765M ? It was proven to be 10% better than 760M but I wonder about 765M .. Hmmm.
*
Almost on par with 770M, it is worth to buy

looking into gx70 with m290x, any nice place intro to buy with installments? or should l go pc for it? since next month it will arrive in malaysia nod.gif
*
before that, I not recommend you go to current GX series as it still use AMD Richland A10-5750M, at least you wait for Kaveri mobile first.

so which would u recommend? need laptop atm, what about ge60/70? cpu wins, but gpu  sweat.gif
*
New GE lineup has decent GPU, GTX860M performance is on par with GTX770M, you can check gaming benchmark at notebookcheck.

I presume your budget will not allow you go beyond RM5k ~ RM6k, so new GE is also a good alternative.

If you want good gaming, you must have certain quality of cooling performance, GX surely can handle very well (same chassis with GT), but GE may struggle a liitle bit.

yar, l picked gx mainly becoz of the m290x, but the 5750m cpu are 32nm process  doh.gif if gaming + working as graphic designer, which one would u recommend? pick better cpu or better gpu?
*
Not sure what is your graphic designer scope, perhaps I suggest you get an I7 combo with any GPU above GTX860M or equal.

But bear in mind, look for at least some level of cooling performance, new GE is a good choice but there is slightly decrease in cooling performance. I know this bcs in China forum they reveal the inner part of GE. Otherwise, wait for GX with new Kaveri mobile APU, but may be 1 or 2 months.

how does it affect? l suppose the 4700hq are beter on it, been using intel all the while, never tried amd, l done some digging on google, cant seem to find any rumors on kaveri mobile apu? any links to share?  notworthy.gif
*
kaveri mobile may be announced in May/June in my opinion, you currently cant find any news as only Kaveri desktop is on market. Even AMD also keep quiet for Kaveri mobile news. Soon they may be some leak source news. 4700HQ definetely a good processor but a soldered CPU.

that's a long wait  sweat.gif , thanks again for the info, awaiting leaked source  nod.gif if cant wait properly will go current gen gx70, the ssd, m290x, 17inch display and price point simply cant beat, might sacrifice cpu  sweat.gif
*
If A10-5750M or new Kaveri APU has performance between 4th gen I5~I7, it is a really good buy, but the fact is really sad. I suggest you go through GX60 discussion in notebookreview forum first, see how forumers there improve their GX series and may be leaked news for Kaveri too.

I was once chosing GX60 too but I cant bear the risk of uncertain performance of CPU as most of the time we tend to forget very tiny but important parts. Eventually, I went for GT70 with a good bargain. Good luck. smile.gif

Not sure want to share this to you and guys here.....

There is a new lineup, combining Intel I7-4810MQ and AMD R9-M290X!! brows.gif

It is called Z70 2BA!!

link:

http://tieba.baidu.com/p/2926144307

I hope this lineup exists and be sold in Malaysia

Remark: It is China website, so just google translate.

the z702ba did match up perfectly!  drool.gif but lm sure the price would cost at the range of 870m, 7k myr perhaps!?
*
Most likely will be RM6k~7k because of AMD GPU high price/cost ratio, if you look carefully the copper sink part, you will find out less one copper pipe connecting CPU and GPU part (on top of ram). I hope this will come to Malaysia to provide more choice, by the way if you can understand Chinese language, you can go often that link as more new stuff and even you can chat directly with expert there, quite experience and helpful.

l can read chinese no worries, saw a web selling the z70, 2k USD  shocking.gif  shocking.gif china forum is pain experience for me, sometimes too much news, duno true or false  doh.gif
*
I just stick to MSI baidu tieba as I can chat directly with them, there are some few experts and sellers from different China location. You can see those new units first and know the improvement before you purchase.

If you want something really technically, you can go to notebookreview forum.

Not sure about this one, but should be okay. If you mean at the same time with HDD and SSD, then I am not sure.

You are not serious right? The 2013 GEs' cooling systems are not really good. Not to mention about their battery life.
Any source for this? Mind to share?
*
You can refer to link above and explore other thread. Basically, what I mean is comparing to 2013 GE series, 2014 GE series is inferior in terms of cooling performance. The reason is less one copper pipe instead of 3 copper pipes found in 2013 GE series.

link:

new 2014 GE http://tieba.baidu.com/p/2915799061

and compare with this 2013 GE http://tieba.baidu.com/p/2927908375

Edit: @ReverseDark, you can refer to link for 2014 GE, quite nice review. smile.gif

Imo lesser heatpipes maybe becoz of nvidia maxwell 860m, as maxwell use lower tdp, resulted cooler than previous gen, cant really know unless l gets my hand on it or some reviews, maybe tieba baidu have the comparison!?
*
they have, but I forget the link, actually it is not cooler but slightly hotter than previous gen even though GTX860M has better power utilization for performance. Somemore now new GE features with I7-48XXMQ CPU.

In actual case, users only experience warm on laptop surface until certain extent. However, you still can consider new GE series as I think overall it is a good buy, just need to tolerate in cooling.

been a desktop base user, imo lesser voltage = lesser heat, decided to buy the ge70, according to storm88 ge60/70 uses 86m mobo are not compatible with super raid aka ssd  doh.gif will update about the temp next month once l got my hands of my bro's laptop nod.gif
*
Not sure about that, even lesser voltage = less heat, stilll new GE should not remove 1 heat copper pipe, even the interior arrangement can be improved better. sweat.gif

Anyway, good luck and remember to do some benchmark once you buy. Mostly people here are concerned about cooling, so, do some stress test as well. However, if you are affordable, please go to GT60 Dominator (RM5799).

Would run some furmark and prime 95 see how it goes, wouldnt do long stress test, will try poison my bro on gt60 brows.gif
