You aren't going to make a career from picking fruits in Australia/New Zealand. In any case, I do have friends who's gone do it but that's only for a temporary period. And he's doing it only to ensure he's got $ to finance his one-year away.

Minimum wage in Australia is about A$16/hour so I guess you can safely say that you'll be paid A$16 in Australia. I don't know about New Zealand though.

There's a one-year-work-visa/permit (or 6 or 9 months, can't remember) that U can apply for New Zealand. There are certain criterias in which you have to meet; one of which is that you need to be below the age of 30.
