Same case here, been looking around the net for solutions for hours now with no results. Called TM and ended up with "there is no problem with your connection.", totally feel like banging my head against the wall now since my main is stuck at leviathan server with severe lag issue.

QUOTE(hackoftheworld @ Aug 27 2013, 08:33 PM) Well, sorry for not following your lowyat FFXIV threads. But ugh, I called them up earlier and they said they're looking into some problem related to connections to China and youtube vids online (It's probably unrelated), but idk how they run the lines overseas anyway. |

QUOTE(mih0shinj0 @ Aug 27 2013, 08:40 PM) Well, sorry for not following your lowyat FFXIV threads. if its Canada, Montreal then i understand since that is where the NA/EU servers are located at. grrr, world transfer is not comin until mid of sept and if im not playing it will be a waste of money since the sub has started counting now.But ugh, I called them up earlier and they said they're looking into some problem related to connections to China and youtube vids online (It's probably unrelated), but idk how they run the lines overseas anyway. |

Apparently the lag only happens to the players who play on NA servers. i tried creating a new character on JP server and its smooth as silk, zero lag.

Yep, I'm on the NA server too... so I guess it's all around then, not specific to location.
Thanks, UNIFI. |

I just pinged the NA/EU servers and I'm looking at non-consistent pings ranging from 200 to 2000ms. In game, I'm pretty much spiking very hard, and not just 3-4s intervals. |

Suffering a major lag in NA server, Behemoth. Can't even initiate dialog for quests, constant rubberbanding and occasional disconnection. I just hope they expand the servers on JP side soon.

The absolutely shit part is that you can't explain your problem to them (UNIFI) since their call-in service has all the phonecall taichi moves and it's always busy. Mine happened specifically on 11:30pm yesterday, it was smooth as silk before that. |

I hope this wont turn into PSO2 where animosity towards us mere gaijins by the japs got so huge that mods started banning anyone speaking english for petty offenses.
Well, pso2 also got hacked several times and that might have aggroed them up, but japs online tend to be more racist. Speaking from own experience though. If youve never been harrassed by one, you have too much luck. |

Depends... I played on Ship 4, there wasn't much animosity between the japanese players and the international players. I'll have to say though, if anything; the international players were usually the rude ones.Well, pso2 also got hacked several times and that might have aggroed them up, but japs online tend to be more racist. At one time, shit was so all over the place; important NPCs got dislocated from their original positions which caused players unable to initiate activities that require us to talk to them. People who did such hacks(though not as much a hack as script kiddies using Cheat Engine) said that they were only trying to expose PSO2 servers' lack of security, but what it did instead was that it created fiction between the Japs and the rest. Not sure how it is now, but back then, by the time I left, floor 20(de facto gathering place for English-only players) which once used to be a lively place became... 'dead'. Sure, you don't HEAR people talk in that game's lobby, but the lack of conversation and everyone seemingly too afraid to say a word made that place feel uncomfortably eerie for me. |

Well, I manged to login with UNIFI - the stability isn't there but it was an improvement over yesterday's.
I managed to play pretty decently in less crowded areas but when it got into very dense areas such as South Shroud where there are tons of FATE occurring and other players running around; the latency just dipped. I did another ping test again and below was my result : http://pastebin.com/MPs9dytv [EDIT] READ : MINOR IMPROVEMENT [/EDIT] This post has been edited by mih0shinj0: Aug 28 2013, 03:56 PM |

"FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn.
Since the start of early access on Saturday, August 24th, an enormous amount of users have been logging in to the game. As such, the number of users logging in has been increasing at a rate that is much higher than what we had originally anticipated. To ensure that we maintain a quality level of service for everyone, we have been setting restrictions on both the creation of characters as well as adjusting the number of users that are able to log in. We are well aware that these restrictions are a source of frustration for our users who are waiting to play. To address this matter, we are currently working on introducing new Worlds and enhancing the performance of the login and match making processes on both the Japanese and North American & European data centers. This operation is expected to be completed at the beginning of next week. Until this operation is complete, we would like to prioritize the quality of service for those who have already purchased the game. Therefore, we are temporarily suspending the sale of the digital download versions of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn. Once the operation has been completed, the sale of the digital download version will resume. While the operation is in progress, we will continue to apply restrictions on both the creation of characters and the ability to log into the game. Throughout this time, we will be offering constant updates on the progress of the operation. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this causes our users and humbly request your understanding. " >>SOURCE<< i think the game is too new, everyone spamming in and then AFK or Botting endlessly hence lagging or dc is unavoidable , i think gonna buy the game till everything settle down lag or bug issues |

I'm using Unifi w/ w/o VPNinja.
When I first started the game, I see a couple of disconnects so I logged in using VPNinja since it has Japan server, so can really get excellent speed. However yesterday I was able to play w/o using my VPN. I guess it might just be the connection issue towards the server itself. p/s: VPNinja sub is USD 6/month .If you want to use VPNinja, I appreciate if you can put me down as your referrer leh so that I can get one free month sub. So looks like its unifi's fault. anyone has any idea how to speak to them regarding this matter? |

GUYS! try using ur unifi to play now! im 10 mins into to game and i havent encountered a single sign of lag yet, which is rather unusual because normally when i open the door in my room, it should takes 3 secs for the option to pops up and now its instant! im doing mining now btw and i still see no sign of lag so far!

So far I have not encountered any lag in JP server.
I did encounter some lag when I started off in a NA server though. |
