I've contacted Edward from FreeMan Guitars (http://www.freemanguitars.com/) and he's selling a custom handmade (made it himself) Engelmann spruce/Indian Rosewood all solid dread. He's the only luthier I know. Of course there's the chap from GIM (forgot his name) but I dont know how to contact him...

I know I can find a lot of good solid top guitars here but I'm not into buying the brand cos guitars like Martin, Taylor.. aiyooo so expensive la. Martin starting at 4K! Seagull, A&L etc is affordable but then again my custom would be one of a kind and I can be assured of its quality compared to mass produced factory guitars. Belilah barangan buatan Malaysia icon_rolleyes.gif hehehh

So maybe you guys have any thoughts on a good quality solid top (at least) acoustics that wont make me eat maggi for 3 months rclxub.gif and maybe anyone have experience having a custom guitar made for him could share his thoughts.

I'm in Miri so can't go to kl just to try guitars... too bz working. I'm into strumming/picking mostly but i do play some classical and little bit fingerstyle(around 100x slower than Tommy Emmanuel) sweat.gif

hope u guys can help even just a little.. cheers

Jimmy Page is a excellent acoustic player.. lots of people only looks at his electric skills (they're excellent too)... Going to California.. Bron Yeur Au Stomp (sukati je eja hahaa) are some examples.. sweet...

I kinda think Pagey as a songwriter and producer more than a guitarist. He might not be the most original guitarist in the 70s, but Led Zep has basically written the rock textbook with their studio albums.

wow, cool...another guitar luthier surfaced in our local scene.
i was enquiring a while back, but no one had any idea besides naming 'GIM'.

are there any others besides GIM and Freeman, guys?

FreeMan stated on website, that they do build guitars...but so far it's only acoustics on display online. no works shown on electric guitars - which is more like the one i'm interested in. smile.gif

i've been scouting for a custom made electric for ages now.

I think I had mentioned about Freeman guitars a while back. RM2500? wow.. are you ordering a custom or getting one ready made? I would suggest gettin a ready made one cuz

a) the wood has matured cuz it could be on display for a while
b) cheaper cuz its not custom made for YOU (my fren sells free man at 1800)
c) acoustic guitars are unpredictable! one batch might be different than the other. This is true mainly because of the wood maturity

biggrin.gif just my 3 cents. It worthless I know hahaha

I'm lloking for a luthier to repair a guitar that I may be playing in the near future. 1st fret needs some adjustments. I'm staying in OKR so the location ideally should be in Subang/USJ/ PJ State/Old town or along old klang road.

Thanks for the assist.
