Hey guys.. I need some professional opinions on whether it worth it to sell my galaxy tab 2 10.1 , and buy a new ipad mini instead??
I noticed that Samsung products are kinda lag at times, n I guess Apple products are better at this. But d bright side of Samsung is that we can dl loads of things without paying, unlike Ipad, unless u r gonna jailbreak it. But even jailbreak-ing is pretty troublesome right?

So the point is.. should I sell my tab n get an ipad? Appreciate it if u guys can provide me the pros & cons of these 2 diff devices! smile.gif

sell samsung when there's value, and get apple.

but apple u must know that its not that compatible with other devices. e.g.: transfer file via bluetooth not available.
for u EMMA, jus get the ipad mini. sell ur tab..

1. there are tons of good, free apps for ipad
2. jailbreaking is either very very easy or totally impossible. it's probably the latter in the case of a brand new ipad mini
3. jailbreaking is so much more than 'getting free stuff', which is illegal n you're not supposed to talk about that here

the big question here is why are you going from a 10" to a 7.9" device?

if you simply want a smaller, faster tablet, probably the 2013 nexus 7 would be a better choice for you. no need to redownload all ur apps smile.gif

there's an ipad subforum :d

https://forum.lowyat.net/iPad

anyways i suggest waiting as i stated as the newer ones should come out soon. the site i linked above is pretty nifty if you're fixing to stay somewhat up to date :P

if you're going to make a purchase _right now_ though, i'd steer clear of the ipad mini. form factor is awesome but i sold mine solely because the screen is garbage. imo anyways.

thanks for d info tho'. smile.gif
Btw, I know its better to have larger screen device, but after 8-months, i figured out that I like smaller tab/ipad better coz its so much lighter than galaxy tab n smaller in size that i can easily carry around. I'm a student, so its kinda troublesome for me to bring my galaxy tab every time i go to campus. Its too heavy and huge for me.

Does Nexus 7 have better quality as compared to ipad or galaxy tab? N is it more suitable for working adults or students? N how much is the current market price for it?
thanks. biggrin.gif

well i dont want to compare ipad and galaxy... better compare iOS n android for that

honestly i dont get what's so attractive about any galaxy product. the new nexus7 seems to be a solid bet. pure jellybean buttery experience. plus you'll get the latest OS from google.

iPad Mini is good and will never lag.Just that it does not have Retina Display like the iPad has.Retina Display is good because the graphics really very good.like in real life graphics. For the iPad better than iPad Mini.

iOS is really a very good operating system. My iPad is now 11months old and so far no problem AT ALL.Amazing Graphics, never lagged,I have over 80games and over 40+ apps. The apps are really cool.you will love them.Just that, apple has a standard.you can't bluetooth with another devices.you can only bluetooth to your car, apple PC,laptop,iDevices.

Go for the iPad Mini/iPad.They are 100% better than the another tablets.

Nope,I download all free apps and paid apps for free.

To get paid apps for free,I suggest you use 25PP.its a computer application but then you can install it to your ipad and directly download games from there. But trust me,go for the ipad. You won't regret.

I dislike ppl saying android has more free apps and they're misleading in this..what source was that? Must be from illegal sites..apple on the other hand has more apps available..u think it not free? If you could wait for free apps a day..u probably lucky enough to get many famous paid games for free..it depends on which operating system u desire..my phone is android and I own an ipad..I do feel ios more user friendly..my Samsung phone just doesn't work as consistent and smooth as ios..if u want more apps to play with, pick apple..u want more features and functionality, pick Samsung smile.gif

Do u have any idea on the market price for 2nd hand galaxy tab now? Guess I need to trade in my tab to get an ipad, coz so far not many ppl are going for 2nd hand tabs since they can afford a new 1.

oh shoot! I just watched a review on Nexus 7, n I would say there are quite a number of positive comments bout it. like.. cheaper, better processor, faster, better resolution n better compatibility since its an android n etc.. So now im starting to have a second thought. I dunno what to decide really. For sure I'm trading in my galaxy tab, but which 1 to buy now... rclxub.gif cry.gif
Any comments?

honestly, i tried Android tablets before.
yes their specs are higher, but Apple is good with their standards.

most apps run VERY smoothly, unlike Android, because they are optimised to suit Apple products.

powerful specs does not mean apps run better.

but if you like Android, go ahead. but for the casual user and Apple fans, iPad is still the best

i used to have a galaxy tab 10"... its was a great tablet...
but i sold it to get an ipad2... then, i sold my ipad2 to get a mini... best decision ever...

u need to know what ur gonna use them for... i mean, the most basic thing ..
as for me, i like to play around mixing musics... and good DJ apps are only available for iOS like CrossDj and Traktor...

i also use my ipad mini for web browsing, FB, eBay, emails, notes, utube, E-banking and sometime play games...
an Ipad mini is perfect for my usage as it is small enuf to fit my man bag...
i love the shape.. not too narrow, not too wide... it doesnt look like a huge phone....
accecories are cool too... and im not bothered to pimp my homescreen, arrange icons here n there, huge clock n weather widgets etc..
if i want to know what the weather is like, i just look outside smile.gif

i have my phone with me all the time, so thats why it has to be an Android
i use my Xperia Z for social apps... Sony camera are the best!! and its waterproof too brows.gif

but for tablet, i'd go for ipad mini anytime... thumbup.gif

Seriously, you post this question in the iPad forum it's quite obvious most of the answers you'll get are mostly biased towards Apple...

using ipad 3 here... one thing i dont like ipad is that its frequent need of refresh when you browse internet whether u r using safari or chrome.. I usually open 3 or 4 tabs, the first and second tab will always refresh when I get back to them..

yes, frequent lag here and there can also be seen with ipad 3 especially with ios 7 though I think ios 7 is better than ios 6 in some cases but i havent tested ios7 properly... i have samsung galaxy s3 as my primary phone and the lag is actually comparable with ipad 3 though lag in s3 can be sometimes annoying especially in games (experience with galaxy tab is expected to be many times worst than samsung s3 but not with the new nexus 2013).. you cannot find this much with ipad 3 at the moment..

my old first gen ipod touch cannot be used at all... the lag after I updated it to latest ios is unbearable.. cannot install many apps including many basic apps.... so i guess over time, ipad 3 will also be like that, but not in maybe 2-3 years... just dont expect it can hold its smoothness forever...

i am currenty using surface rt... love its remote desktop ability and ipad will never get that as it is only available with microsoft product. experience with other remote desktop softwares will never be the same as using the Microsoft remote dekstop connection... i still keep my ipad for the games (my wife is currently using it)...

i guess ipad mini is many times better than samsung tab 2 10 inch in smoothness, apps, and hardware... i always suggest people to buy ipad instead of any other android tablets, except if you want to go with the nexus brand...
