Buying Advice Canon A540. Is it worth to buy?, Anyone help me!!

I'm considering to buy this digicam. I'm the newbie in this digicam stuff. BTW, what brand of rechargeable batteries i should buy? Thanks for replying.

I think both model are quite equal. The A700 got larger LCD screen only...Think you can save quite a lot on the A540 than A700....
