btw any piper here? need some advice on tobacco leaves...

i remembered some1 told me to store the leaves in the fridge for a day, and then take it out n let it air for a day or 2 in a room to bring out the aroma. is this true?

or did i got that wrong?

Well, I pretty new to pipe but I have tried a lot of blent...
I may not be good in this and hopefully I can help a little with my experience.

Everyone have their own taste. Like everyone do.. I start with Captain Black aromatic tobacco. I tried a few bowl and find out it is too dry for me.
So what I do is I visit tobaccoreview(dot)com and I manage to see a blent with very good review. The brand name is McClelland, Frog Morton.
Without considering, I went to the tobacco store near my place and request for information on this.
The shop keeper keep on telling me that Frog Morton are for experience pipe smoker and not for beginner like me since Frog Morton have Latakia Tobacco which normally a beginner with dislike. I insisted and make my purchase of McClelland, Frog Morton Cellar.

Open the tin of Frog Morton Cellar and I smell BBQ!!! Try a couple of bowl and I am stuck into it!!! Sweetness from Virginia and some sour from Latakia... This is my very 1st English Blent and I say bye bye to Aromatic Tobacco once and for all...

Until current, I still stick with McClelland Frog Morton series (Frog Morton, Frog Morton Cellar, Frog Morton on the bayou, Frog Morton on the town & Frog Morton across to pond). I have tried McClelland straight virginia blent (Christmas Cheer Year 2012) which is pretty much sweet but you need to actually leaving it a few months to get the great original tobacco sweetness from the blent.

When I am poor, I go for Peterson since it is much more cheaper comparing to McClelland. (McClelland - RM55 50g Tin & Peterson - RM36 50g Tin).
As for Peterson I personally tried Sunset Breeze, University Flake & Old Dublin. Sunset Breeze is a good blent which is suitable for mostly all newbie..
As for University Flake, it is a pretty good virginia tobacco but I personally prefer McClelland, Christmas Cheer over this. As for Old Dublin, it is pretty much same to McClelland Frog Morton but a little less sweetness.

Please note that the sweetness I mention are not those aromatic sweetness. The sweetness I mention is the original tobacco sweetness which you can taste with you tongue (A little bit of honey sweetness hitting your tongue when you puffing the smoke).

Hope this helps...

Please let me know any of you guys interested. I may take some extra for you guys... Price range is about RM60 each. Only "Legend Missouri Meerschaum Corn Cob Pipe" because I don't want to confuse my friend here.
Please note that what I mentioned are brand new perfect condition. NOT 2nd grade or China made...

You guys may PM me to discuss on how many pcs you guys want. But please understand, my friend can only carry limited quantity (Hand Carry)..

My friend told me he can only hand carry 10pcs max for me..

I want to try pipes but would prefer a wooden rather than a corncob one due to aesthetics.
Btw, where can one find other shops selling pipes in KL area other than Kamelah, Cigar Lounge and Gulamsa Pertama Complex?

Not sure... because I'm from Penang.
Is not wooden... is called Briar...

Well... depends... one may cost RM200~1200 for Brair Pipe and Cob is only RM60~80....

I already have 2 Briar Pipe... Well... the pipe need to break in enable to fully taste the tobacco...
Where Cob don't really need to break in...

Certain tobacco may taste better in Cob... ans certain taste better in Briar...

So far Straight Virginia doesn't really taste good in my Briar... that is the reason why I want to get Cob...
From review... Straight Virginia taste superb in Cob...

I watched from youtube that a normal unbranded corncob is actually pretty cheap and can be bought for as low as 99cents. RM60+ is a bit too high i suppose?

Please note... The price is given by my friend... I am not doing any business here...
