hi darren,

have you ever tried English pipe tobacco? I've heard it has good flavours. I am new to the art of smoking (even though I am a strong malboro red smoker since i was 14 years old), I recently learnt to properly smoke a cigar, and tasting the smoke in the palate.. and find the experience of tasting tobacco very fun! I compare it to tasting good red wine... Its not like smoking to get the nicotine high.. or drinking lots of cheap beer to get the alcohol high.. this is like smoking to enjoy a complex tasting session.. just as one does when drinking a glass of wine from a good year.. or a glass of old single malt whiskey from some scottish village... fascinating!!

Have you tried those local rolled cigars? the cheap ones u can get at the market from that old malay lady .. they are called "curuts" I heard those taste very good (if you know the right rollers)

I'm into pipe smoking and got myself a Meerschaum Pipe some time back in January. This is a picture of it when it was still new. Now the meerschaum is brownish-yellow because it absorbs the tar in time.

My family knows I smoke for pleasure. In moderation is fine but if things get out of hand i.e. smoking continuously, then they'll just make me aware of the situation. I smoke the pipe average 3 times a day anyway...

Hi, i'm interested in smoking a pipe. Would like to know, how does it feel on the throat? Is it strong, rough feeling?

And what would I look for when buying a pipe?

Any tobacco to recommend for a newbie pipe smoker?

PS: I smoke winston reds, and some rollies occasionally.

Hi fellow rollies.. i'm an off and on rollie myself and i've been thinking to go permanent with this.. i've tried out marinating some regular excellent with coffee n tea before... interesting taste.. but now i'm quite hooked up to rolling my own clove ciggy (like those surya n sampoerna) with mint harvest.. too bad harvest's mint not too strong.. any suggestion for good menthol/minty rollie tobaccos, also, any suggestion on how to get the tips sweet? oh.. btw, closest tobacco i've had before that tastes almost like ur ready made one is West. comes in a paper can like tupperware, sealed.. smile.gif
