Well since you guys are going to pick your choice of GC tmr in the EA, lets discussion why do you pick that GC and of course any other discussion related to GC is welcome here. Please post your opinion and thoughts. I think is quite useful for legacy or veteran players to give us more insight about GC to the new players here.

GC, Grand Company, are the NPC City State of Choice.

GC will be part of the Story Line that you will need to progress further and will be more prominent in End Game, and also may have something to do with PvP in future.

There is 3 GC to pledge your alliance to. GC do not hinder you to join FC that is not base on your GC.

The Maelstrom
The Order of Twin Adder
The Immortal Flames

From what i have read over couple of weeks, i have learn the following:

IF you play as tank, take The Maelstrom in Limsa Lominsa
IF you play as dps, take The Order of Twin Adder in Gridania
IF you play as healer can take any gc, no clear advantages over gears

IF you like to look the best, take The Immortal Flames in Uldah

This should be a poll instead of a thread.

There was discussion about this at the new loadstone. People are worried that pvp will be tied to GC as they want to be together with all their FC members for pvp.

which GC best for blackmage?

I think you always have the option to change back to whatever FC your GC is in if that is the case.

Yea, one of the reason I really enjoy FF, is because I can turn on eng subtitle with JP voice-over! Just like in Last Remnant! JP VO is always better.

well u can change ur GC, so i would recommend you to hit max rank with ur current GC and change if anyone of you wanted

I got my bird! But tbh maelstrom bird's barding colour > twin adder colour

haha yea, i think both maelstrom and immortal barding is better than twin adder..but nvm i will be using my CE behemoth barding anyway

I plan to use the final barding although most cases we should be moving to Magitek mount eventually.

yea for now behemoth barding should be sufficient to satisfy me..who knows in the future there might be more awesome and badass barding coming out

So, to join GC, just talk to the NPC at respective town at lv22?
Then do 5 chain quest and it become permanent?

proceed your main quest like normal...you will be ask to join either one of the GC after you kill primal ifrit (Lord of Inferno quest) and you will receive a quest to visit 3 city's again for the GC stuff and go back to waking sand (vesper bay) to select which GC you wanna join

I having problem to rank up my GC rank. i have complete the level 44 dungeon and the quest by flame commander and have rank up to 45k max . But how about next rank ??Anyone know?

Does it matter which answer you pick when the GC asked "Which oath will you swear?"

I remember the game's beginning cutscene provided different rings depending on which answer you pick.

I don't care about consequenes, I just answered "For Kan-E-Senna!!!" haha.

Serious answer: no, it doesn't matter, except that you see different text based on different answer.

how do I change GC? I had chosen the twin adder but I want to see Thancred more often so I want to switch to the Immortal Flames, is it possible?

You will need to reach the rank of Second (Storm/Serpent/Flame) Lieutenant then only you will be able to change GC

ohh that sounds like a long journey
I'll just make my other character join the other GC

I heard that different GC is for a certain jobs/classes and some said it's just the color different between the 3 GC
