As for note 3, I think the battery life will definitely be better than note 2. If note 3 carries on the greatness of note2, I dont see why there won't be a large dev community for it.

Anyway, as for sony. It will definitely be root-able. Battery life i dare not say, have to wait for reviewers, but sony do have the stamina mode which will preserve battery. If you are not using the phone, your battery will hardly drop.
As for the dev community, I always notice that samsung community will be bigger due to more samsungs sold compare to sony. So there will be more choices on samsung than sony i think( for roms,kernels etc).

Also, I've noticed that from the forum of xperia z/htc one/s4 in xda, htc one have the most active thread followed by s4 and xperia z is the smallest one.

Another thing, don't you miss the ability to swap batteries on samsungs? You can't do that on sony.

Well, the more the better i guess. More future proof.
Also, with that much features in touchwiz and the ability for multitasking will be needed heavily, 3gb ram is needed i think.

Yea, I notice a thread in xperia z xda forum where the guy undervolted his proccessor as well as some tweaks and got 6 hours of sot. which is quite impressive.

So maybe can undervolt to save juice?

That was the bootloader.Once unlocked, you will lose bravia engine. And yes, root can be quite tedious at times.


He's the TS from note thread, he should know that best.

If you have the money, pair the Z1 with the qx10/qx100. Then you have the good design with a super bad ass camera.

Not quite sure about that cause sony is quite close to stock android compare to other manufacturer.

Btw, you don't mind about the screen? The screen will most likely be a downgrade from htc one quality wise.

Actually I've been thinking for the qx10/qx100. If they cant be mounted on the tablets or ZU, maybe can just use some double sided tape to tape them? Just some stupid idea that ran across my mind just now.

Yea, might be better to wait for newer batches. Then it will be cheaper+ better display.

IMO, Z1 is an improved Z while z2 is an improved and specs bump Z1.

Maybe Z3 only will have the s-master audio chip?? They might be keeping stuffs up their sleeves to prevent showing all their trump cards on one handset.

1 thing i guess we can confirm is the honami mini during q1 2014.

According to the link posted a few post before this, apparently z1 have 4 types of screen panel. They are all good panels, only the Z/ZL panels aren't that good..

Haha, you will lose your waiting game if you do that to techs. By the time you wanted to buy z2, z3 will be around the corner..

i think they will introduce a new design language. Sony's trend is 1 design language per year..

I think the screen is quite bright..
The claim about viewing angle is that every other manufacturer manage to use a screen which doesnt have viewing angle problem, why does sony still use a bad viewing angle screen?

Sony release 2 flagships per year according to tradition. But honami mini have a high chance to debut on ces 2014.

Z ultra is a new addition to the xperia family. Its a different category which is a phablet.
So i guess from this year onwards we might see 3-4 flagships per year??

But i do hope sony will reduce the number of flagships to 2... 1 phone and 1 phablet...

Lottery or not, we don't know.. but there was this guy saying "I have both devices XZU and XZ1 both have the same displays. And my Z1 is the first one available."

And i saw a video where the Z1's screen color and contrast was better than ZU..The white is whiter on the Z1.
