Um, from what I heard.

- Once u tear it off, warranty will void.
- easily scratched
- To replace the shatter proof film will cost u around RM1k+, because it come with screen panel. Cannot replace the sheet alone.

So, must put another SP to protect the shatter proof film. 

Don't give fark to Sony, anti shatter just a piece of SP just a little hard than normal SP, why need to change whole screen? Nah, Sony

A word of warning is due as we've been getting a lot of user reports that not all Xperia Z1 units out there have the same quality screens. It seems some of them come with panels, which have the same properties as the one on the Xperia Z. These of course, may be pre-production samples or as conspiracy theiorists suggests, leftover panels from the Xperia Z production line. Whatever the case, have this one in mind when you are picking up yours.

If can find a replacement SP with Sony logo baked on it, nothing to worry then.

I have to believe they put it on purpose. while it is removable it sticks pretty damn hard and imo it probably acts as a waterproof safety check.

Web browsing time is betrayed by Chrome Mobile, I know because when I start to browse on it, specially if there's a lot of images on the page, even my phone gets pretty hot, like I was gaming hard on it, and the percentage starts to drop fast.
I seriously don't know why they use Chrome, but moving from it does improve the battery life.
Video playback is probably display thing, Sony's handsets do play a lot of video codecs out of the box, and most of them via hardware, so I don't think it's lack of optimization. Most likely display.

Actually people like or dislike a brand is nothing related to a brand.

Example myself, I give up Sony after give a chance due to below few basic things where it is easier handle but Sony didn't do it.

• Bad Viewing Angle screen at Z where I own, at 1st I talk to myself viewing angle not important, but it really important to me. I know Some people actually snap the comparison within Z1 and Note 3 here, the Note 3 look darker a lot when not view straight, actually this is AMOLED weaknesses when capturing, I had capture before last time when comparing a lot of phone, AMOLED got issue when capture in different angle, but in actual it not that bad. LCD wise can capture as real as what you see. Viewing angle is affecting general usage to me, not because of what people said you look screen from side. The fact is sometimes we only need to check the notification at phone when the phone is on side table, also when playing games like Temple Run. When above scenario, bad viewing angle is unforgiveness. Also we paid same amount or even more for a flagship, why we need to accept cheaper panel like TN or VA.
  
• I am really happy actually when seen Z Ultra use good IPS panel, but the decision Sony use back VA or even TN panel for Z1 is not acceptable for me, I know... it might only certain badge but it looks like it happening, some already get the retail units, certain is as great as Z Ultra, certain is not. Means really possible Sony use back those left out stock bad viewing angle panel.
  
• "Shattered Proof Sheet" - this is the most nonsense thing ever happen at mobile, what the point Sony use it, to make.believe your screen easier scratch? I know the use of this but it really useless by preventing the glass split out when break. But did ever Sony think it is too easier to scratch. After use Z, Tablet Z and Z Ultra, I notice it seems got something spray on top where it do help prevent scratch because I notice it won't get scratch easier in first few days usage, but after that few days, it will start scratch easily, once you get scratch, it will continue scratch badly.
  
• Previously at least Sony not print the logo at that sheet, so we still can peel it off, but now it is print at that sheet, once peel off means take out the logo as well. Also from user report, warranty is void as well.
  
• Even worst is, example Z Ultra, Sony is charging you RM 1,100 when you ask for shattered proof sheet replacement as Sony is replacing the whole LCD panel instead of the sheet only, kind of silly in my opinion.
  
• Some will said apply screen protector is fine, but not everyone like screen protector, I give myself another change to use it, but still I hate screen protector.
  
• Another is the bezel, don't you think Sony did too tick the bezel, it is increasing just for the sake of waterproof? Is the waterproof really matter in life? How many times you gonna swim your phone? I rather having water resistance is enough if water proof need to use up that thick bezel. Also the top and bottom is really too way huge, as seen comparison here, Z1 is only 5" but the body size is too similar as 5.7" Note 3.
  
• Lastly is the firmware issue, I know Sony is damn fast releasing firmware this year, but what Sony did make people feel Sony release new firmware for fun, it might not happen to everyone, but still a lot facing it. The Z Ultra until now already 7 firmware get release, none of the know bugs get solved, also how could be Sony given more bugs in the 4th firmware and that is consider quite huge as it easier to get fake hang and SOD, this issue never solve even in the 7th firmware. Only certain people said solve, but those having it still having it, factory reset or phone repair never help.
  
• The worst is now people report the fake hang and SOD also happen at Z1. If Sony cannot proper do that another crap optimize backlight feature, then better take out. Again probably due to different panel manufacture, certain user get pretty bad look when turn on that optimize backlight.
  
• Also the optimize did by Sony in camera output is pretty bad, really bad, too much post processing, especially over noise filtering as well crazy high ISO auto pick. Take example, Lenovo mention using Sony camera as well but output is better, another is XiaoMi mention using 13MP Sony Camera which highly like the one inside Xperia Z. The output is extreme awesome. Comparing both equal to heaven and hell.
  
• The new Z1 look better but if you check carefully it still facing the obvious not sharp enough image, I not said it is pretty bad but I am assure if this lens use by third manufacture, the result will ahead another level.
  
• Sony always having this issue even on it own DSLT (Sony is DSLT not DSLR) but Nikon the one use Sony sensor always came out with much greater result. I can only said Sony had great hardware but weak programming group for camera part.
  
• Last is the loudspeaker issue, some said is because of waterproof, is it really so? Some user that touch before others brand Japan phone, none is complaining about the loudspeaker weak issue. Waterproof is nothing as it is there for sometimes at Japan.
  

Above all, now I feel Samsung actually did much better, I can't said Samsung solid stable but at least Samsung won't have screen panel issue as well no need apply for Screen Protector, as well always good camera output.

Oh, sorry, my bad then, Haha!

Anyway above is my reason why I feel sad about Sony. Sony want continue grab people heart and be top, still a lot Sony did doing it.
