Exclusive video footage shows new Manchester United away kit is… Manchester City BLUE!

01 April 2014 07:21 AM By Kit Mann

MirrorFootball has obtained video footage that reveals next season away shirt - and it's unlikely to go down well with the fans at Old Trafford

United Top
It's no secret that David Moyes is a keen admirer of Manchester City, and new exclusive footage shows Manchester United are set to pounce on the success of their noisy neighbours by selling a light blue away kit.

The 2014/15 season will not be the first time that Man United have worn a blue away kit, but it has been revealed that the Red Devils are set to unveil a light blue away kit, very similar in colour to Manchester City's home kit, or, erm, the sleeves on West Ham's home kit.

MirrorFootball has unearthed this exclusive video footage featuring what appears to be a sample of the new shirt, due to be used in the 2014-15 season, on sale in a shopping mall in Fillaporo, Thailand, where during the summer we had a team of journalists working round the clock trying to spot a Real Madrid kit with "Bale" printed on the back. They failed in this mission, but liked the weather so much that they decided to stay.

The discovery comes just days after David Moyes responded to his side’s 3-0 drubbing in the Manchester derby by admitting United wanted to emulate their neighbours.

"We have played a very good side, playing at the sort of level we are aspiring to," said the beleaguered boss.

Manchester United fans will be dismayed to learn that the first step in this process appears to be copying City’s kit design. But insiders at the club have suggested that this is purely a marketing decision, in an attempt to keep hold of Asian supporters who might be tempted to switch allegiances after Manchester City's success this season.

An Old Trafford source told MirrorFootball that the club is confident that the new kit will be a hit.

"It might take fans a bit of time," he said. "But we really believe that the fans will warm to the new kit. Blue is now considered a lucky colour in the Asian market and hopefully that luck will rub off on the team next season.

"Obviously a huge part of the decision is City's success as a club, and also their superior squad, the fact their manager has come to the club and made an instant impact, and to be honest, sky blue is just a nice colour.

"We can't have it both ways in Manchester, it rains 366 days a year, so we can't moan about having an away kit that reminds of what the sky actually looks like when you take the clouds out of the equation.

"Also, don't you find it hilarious that we're still in the Champions League and they're not? In Moyes we trust."

MirrorFootball reached out to manufacturers Nike for a statement on what is sure to be a very controversial strip.

An official spokesman said that the company will be issuing a statement, so check back on Tuesday afternoon to see what they have to say.

Guys

Can anyone share how we can determine whether the jersey is a pure authentic player issue or not?

Besides checking on the jersey's label size between at the back of the neck with the label near to the printed washing label (for nike jersey), i heard that Nike PI jersey is made only in certain countries such as Indonesia and Bangladesh. Is this true?

How we are going to determine on the authenticity of adizero jersey as well since there are so many fake jersey but showing player issue spec.
*
Nike - not sure. besides checking the printed washtag.
adizero - 1. ultra light weight material for adizero (fake surely doesn't have this feature). 2. check the model, article..etc..etc..

Yeap, they'll most probably reduce the price for about 20% to 30% after that but from my experience is that the available sizes usually are very limited and these vendors don't restock anymore unless your size is not between S and M then you're quite safe.
how come this version has the Johnson & Johnson print at the back?

Anyway, I've unwrapped the France World Cup 2014 Away Kit and i'm sharing some pictures with you guys.

The first thing i noticed on this Away shirt is that the texture of the material used is different from the Home shirt. This feels more rigid and seems like there are more "plastic" composition in this one but it is all good since it gives the shirt form compared to the Home shirt where it's very soft. However this rigidity does not affect the comfort at all, it's still very comfortable to wear.

You can also see that the miniature holes on this shirt is more apparent than the Home shirt.

The only downside of this shirt is probably the neckline where there is no collar instead a short stump is employed and because of this design you will have gaps between your neck and the neckline. Maybe the player issue would give a better fitting in this area.

Overall great shirt. Can't wait to see the players wear this on the pitch!

hehe, I also wanna share mine, the authentic version + shorts

Thanks for the reply. But how we are going to spot the differences via picture between the fake and authentic adizero?

Based on the previous thread that i have read, the differences are ultra light and the quality material that are coming from adizero.

Even we can see fake adizero jerseys have a printed crest logo as similiar to authentic adizero.

Thank You.

it's always quite difficult to tell which is authentic and which is not UNLESS you have been a collector for that one particular brand then on sight, you'll be able to notice.

if you are just a normal consumer who wants to purchase it for that special occasion then i'd really advise you to drop by their official stores and grab them, peace of mind.

whatever it is, so far the best indicator is the price. i have not come across a seller who sells fake jerseys to people with the price of an authentic because the seller would have expect that the purchaser would have a little bit wee knowledge on how to differentiate the same.

trust me fren, there are some seller whois total rip! selling fake jersey at super crazy price claims its super rare PI. asked them to snap inside washtag & they reluctant...that's how they are caught rclxms.gif

Just received my Brazil jersey yesterday, bought it from Hulala website with only RM149, as they stating their jersey is authentic, which is not, unfortunately it is high quality counterfeit.

What I can say is the jersey looks almost exactly the same as what u saw at Nike shop which worth RM269, from the packaging to price tag to fabric material.

However I have spotted two things are different which is minor, one is the inside out of Brazil emblem, behind the emblem there is something like sun rise sort of logo with green color  with some portugese word i suppose, if original one it will be embossed but if counterfeit one it is ironed one , although they looked the same from far distance

Another thing is the washing instruction label , for Original one it usually have 4 labels with different languages but counterfeit only has 1.

Hope this helps everyone who wants to know how to differentiate authentic and High quality counterfeit jersey.

Lastly, I wanted to say this is my first time buying thing from Hulala website and also it will be my last time as well due to numbers of negative feedback from their customers.

somebody asked before for hulala & ive told him be careful by looking at their prices, RM149 for a fake jersey is a TOTAL RIP! when u can get it for <RM50. but we are not suppose to discuss fake jerseys here. just head up for hulala so its proven they are selling fake shirts.
