Here is my list : 1. Redeker's plan: what to say ? do not know whether to hate him or love him. Such character! And the twist at the end of this story (the signout page). 2. Yonkers: how f***ed-up modern weaponry was against zombies and sometimes, actually worked against them in some cases. 3. Avalon song in the Battle of Five Colleges - manly tears was shed. 4. The story from the security guy where a bunch of Hollywood/TV celebrities got their come-uppance. Damn satisfying 5. Cuban storyline - I liked how it become a production powerhouse for the war effort. How ironic! 6. Chinese nuclear submarine story - the confrontation between the father and 'son'.... 7. The speech from the England's royalty about the highest service is to the public. Was quite touching.
Some unforgettable terms: Lobo, Zacks.
Other minor stuff: quislings, Last Man Standings syndrome <--- I don't know how the heck the author could even imagine these types of pyschological/sociological effects
What are yours ?

1. Redeker's Plan It was a cold calculating plan, but the only logical one really. The infection was just like an Ebola plague but the situation was so dire that instead of quarantining the infected, the only possible way to survive would be to seclude the uninfected from the infected.
Instead of spreading their resources too thin, they just had to save those they deemed valuable to the survival of the human race. Sounds cruel, put humans in a difficult situation and you can see how easily the veneer of civility can be stripped away.
2. Yonkers Sounds funny and f*ck*d up, but these type of situations happens frequently in real life. The Brigadier Generals are those that fought the wars based on older technology and a different era. That coupled with the regimented training and group think in the military results in most Generals to be quite orthodox and unable to adapt to the fluid situation on the battlefield, which could result in disastrous situations.
World War Z was really a great book. Hope the movie can live up to about 33% of the book. Wish they had gone for a mini-series instead.

Just watched the movie. I must say, it's somewhat disappointing how they changed the zombies from slow moving shambling corpses to fast moving angry zombies. Also the movie doesn't really do the book justice.

Yes, the movie sucks great time compared to the book. However, there were a couple of great scenes ( the one in the airplane and the attack on Jerusalem).

QUOTE(khew @ Oct 23 2013, 09:30 AM) Yes, the movie sucks great time compared to the book. However, there were a couple of great scenes ( the one in the airplane and the attack on Jerusalem). But the attack on Jerusalem is so stupid! Start singing songs and attract the zombies? No one watching on the walls? Weird
