PETALING JAYA: At least 15 people are feared dead after an express bus carrying tourists plunged into a ravine near Genting Highlands around 3pm Wednesday.
The accident occurred some two kilometres from the Chin Swee Caves Temple, as the bus was coming down from Genting Highlands and heading towards Kuala Lumpur.
Rescuers were frantically working to reach four people trapped in the bus.
Traffic in the area is at a standstill as police ensure rescue vehicles can reach the scene of the accident.
Earlier, Bentong OCPD Supt Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri confirmed the incident to The Star but could not give further details.
"I can confirm that there were passengers on the bus but how many there were I don't know yet.
"Authorities as en route to the site now," he said.
