According to sales data, monthly sales of pornography — commonly referred to as AV, or adult video — is around 4500 units, with nearly 10,000 women partaking in the action. At the same time movies were made at a faster pace, which spread budgets and schedules thinner than ever, increasing demand for professional actors that could deliver a high-level of sexual technique and also work as a part of the film crew. A minimum of one monthly test for sexually transmitted infections is also a requirement, acting as certification to differentiate them as a thoroughbred actor, to create a safe and relaxing experience.
