920 will definitely get 8.1, and small updates after 8.1.
The next big one after 8,.1, like, 8.2, 8.3, etc, whatever they will call it, might not hit the 920. If it does, maybe some features are skimped out. You know, like what apple does for their older phones, they still update them but some features of the newest updates are removed. That isnt a bad idea to me.

But still, you need to change a smartphone latest also after it reached 3 years old. For me it's 2 years cycle. Im juz a college student. If i start working ady maybe i can get new model almost yearly. I love gadgets in general.

They get version 8.08, maybe, just like how windows phone 7 got 7.8. /s
Seriously, Msoft already promised at least 2 years+ of support.    Must be another site or writer who hates Microsoft with a passion like TheVerge. There is no way Lumia 1520 cant run 8.1; there no effing way a flagship phone with Snapdragon 800 released just a few months will not get the next OS update, MSFT isnt so stupid to backstab their own OEMs and damage their own reputation.

If 1520 will get 8.1, 1320 will also sport 8.1 (that phone will only come out in early 2014) and that phone has almost same specs with 82X and 92X series, so at least the higher end models should also get 8.1. Common sense.

try flash using nokia software updater

but it will erase all your game info and apps (basically everything)

most of the time i run my phone on 2G mode aka edge

can last for a day + ..2G very slow but no problem on receiving whatsapp and wechat

i only enable 3G when i want to use facebook

I actually have data on whole day but on 2G only. Never bothered to off data since getting GDR2. I only change to 3G when I need the speed. Basically can last me through the day if just on 2G.

Wow, Instagram, Snapchat (6Snap), Waze lands on windows phone. What  a day. Pretty much WP is acknowledged as a fast growing platform already.
