mine works perfectly fine.... i guess you'll have to try and wait for 1-10 minutes to get the satellite and location done....
cause mine only move 3 min+ after I activate the gps....(because i didnt use it that often i guess)

also you says "it looks like it detected the signal but it won't move"

it can take up to 45 minutes to find your location sometimes if

1) you are using it for the first time.
2) you haven't used for more than a few days.
3) your phone has been switched off in one location and switched on in a completely different location.
*
Nope, that's doesn't sounds right to wait up to 10-45 minutes.
I've used since Nokia Drive till Here Drive, always get GPS signal within 1 minute, only encounter this issue recently only.
If I turn data off completely, left Location on, it will take forever to look for GPS signal, suspect my GPS signal faulty coz right now it kept using A-GPS which is not accurate and not updated instantly, which means Navigation is totally not working....

it might be recently is too cloudy or rainy days then the GPS is getting difficulty to lock on. I encountered this issue few times before when is too cloudy. And the GPS will be harder to lock on if you are moving in a car.
Also to said that actually the GPS reception for our 920 is not that strong comparing with previous Nokia flagship.

It's every weak on my end, still figuring how to fix it.

I have to wind down the window to get proper GPS lock but when the car moved too fast the signal will be lost.

Some times, the GPS will lost tracking when I'm about to reach the destination. sad.gif

as I know some metallic base tint film such as Vkool might disrupt GPS reception

Well, this is my first time encounter such issue after using it since launch till now. If you check nokia support forum, many people complain on this also.

It is bright sky with no tall building surround me, but still I'm not able to get a gps signal.

Those who get gps works fine, try download an app named gps info, it will tells whether you are using A-GPS from GSM or what. Mine keep getting that, and always low accuracy...

Yes, most of the smartphone GPS out there has this problem with VKOOL tint which is why some car accessories shop sell tint that won't affect GPS.

Usually on my previous smartphones (Lumia 900 & hTC One X), I usually wind down the window to get a lock, after that wind up back, not a problem.

But you wouldn't want to setup your GPS while you drive gua? Please don't do that. icon_question.gif

Further reading on "that" thread (assuming we're on the same thread on Nokia support forum) suggests that there's an app call GPS Satellite will solve the problem, try it?

Still in office, will try later after work.

LOL YES, cloudy/shitty storms usually won't get gps signal lah.

Today I launched the GPS satellite app and once it located a gps signal, i went back to home to launch the drive immediately, it locks on quickly and now, enjoy the battery drain! laugh.gif

Took a huge leap of faith from butterfly last week, and yeah man I'm starting to fall in love with Lumia 920. Paired with the Wireless Charger that I have at my disposal, Lumia 920 might be one the of best wireless charging phone outside. Love the dictionary app from the store. Feels really polished and no ads surprisingly. Nothing much really to complain about except the fact that I think my butterfly takes better picture than the 920. Not sure what is the problem but my Lumia 920 takes picture with a lot of noise. And I think my phone is missing the low light photography heavily boasted by this phone. Is it enabled by default ?

check your phone whether its windows phone 8 amber already or not... if no, then update it to amber and download nokia procam...
it's a camera app ... with manual settings..... then you can manually change the ISO, WB and so on.... prefer procam over the default cam.... xD the downside is that the battery drains faster while using procam...

if youre talking about sharpness, butterfly have a full hd screen while the 920 is hd, thats why it looks better. and also WP gallery preview is not full res. you can try this app http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/ap...f8-5c9e7597a2df (unlimited free trial)

did you compared the low light picture with other device? you dont have to enable anything.

Hi there, you can go to Settings > Extras+Info to check. If you have a Lumia Amber it will be displayed there.
