I think it won't be faster since "n" WIFI speed should be good enough speed and for watching movie via WIFI is no really a big issue....however, I remembered 1~2 years back, when watching over 15GB HD via WIFI, I experienced some buffering or delay....since then, all my media players is connected using LAN port.
But I think it is also depending on your router because some router has good WIFI range or strong WIFI signal.....
However, you can always try it out using your WIFI......
Wifi is a bit iffy especially for 1080p mkvs due to the bigger bitrates but for rmvb's/avi's is ok. You may get more stuttering or buffering. But I think it is also depending on your router because some router has good WIFI range or strong WIFI signal.....

Wifi signal also depends a lot on distance from router, any thing obstructing the signal (such as between floors) and also interference from other 2.4GHz wireless products such as cordless phones/bluetooth.
For best results, use LAN cables.
