Hopefully this will be better than dead island.

The only thing i find impressive for this game is the life like foliage/wind/environmental compare to all other FPS including can-it-play-crysis-3.

Dead island is pretty shitty, never made it over the 1st hour of gameplay for me. Crap FOV, crap movements.
Had better fun with Dead Rising 2 compare to dead island.

Nevertheless, impressive life like foliage.

I enjoy Dead Island quite a bit. It was one of those game my wife will come to see me play every time i start the game. I still remember my palm get all sweaty when I am face with the mini boss with horde of zombies behind me. So I have some hope for this game to turn out alright. Based on the video I watched on youtube, I think I gonna enjoy this game, provided it dont have some game breaking bugs. Dont really care bout story, just give me zombies to kill.

I enjoy dead island with my friend, I enjoy watching him getting devoured by the zombies once in a while but he always managed to run away or stayed alive. It's really fun if you can get somebody to play with you.

More curious abt framerates.

2014 was odd . Basically only shadow of mordor/ lords of the fallen / ryse & wolfenstein was playable. The rest till date still buggy as hell. Only these games have been solved.

PS4/Xbox one locked at 30 FPS. PC is more of a problem, I hope it is a good port instead of something like AC:Unity.

Warner Bros always screw up reviews, remember Shadow of Mordor Fiasco ? But the game turned up ok. as long not Ubisoft (currently in my shitlist)

Gameplay looks bland, will probably get it when its cheap

I was playing it and it was ok...TB level is full ultra max fps with max resolution since he is using gtx titan and I just medium with 1600 x 920 with gtx 650 ti boost.. issues with SLI perhaps.

Btw, tips for those have the pre-ordered dockets, apparently the gears you redeem scale with your level..sort of like golden keys from BL2. I redeem at start all I get was pipes with orange color which is quickly replaced afterwards >_>..

And for those that use companion app, there is a limit to the amount of ammo you can take...so don't send too much..

his new rig for quite sometime already.

and he is gaming at 1440p afaik gsync .

anyway tested at 1440. so far indoors averaging at 90-100fps . DOF/FOV left it at middle with everything maxed out.

DOF/FOV from what i saw at nvidia optimization is the one that kills the fps

will try later at night for outdoor gameplay which a lot of ppl say will tank the fps.

btw sli so far is working great.

to make sure sli is working... always check at the ncp and see whether it has detected the game or u have to manually add it.

rooftop was 120-140+fps.

btw this game is not cpu intensive as during all this testing i was encoding in the background running 100% on all cores.

gpu also rarely above 40c.

ok 70fps outdoors at normal view distance. max will tank it to 55fps at 1440p everything maxed out

also ram hit 12gb(thinking should i enable back virtual mem) running around outside and vram now at 4.5gb.

still uber smooth.

no flickering for me.

Sounds good. Guess i can go preorder my physical copy later

gameplay is ok, but the key mapping on a ps4 is so bad == R1 for jump and R2 for attack, L1 for kick and L2 to throw something,

too much mess

need to wait for a while for the higher resolution to process.

i'm experiencing constant framerate drop especially at outdoor in med to high setting.

Currently using GTX970, wonder is it my outdated drivers.

Nvidia released driver update recently and it was "so called" optimized for Dying Light.

btw, if your fps tanks, probably the view distance is the culprit. Try tuning that. Minimum view distance is pretty quite far actually.

so far 2 hours into the game, was playing around 3 am +

noticed something funny when I was killing the zombie, I thought I saw the female zombie ( bikini ) the boobs jiggle when I hit her. At this point, I thought I was tired then I tried on another female zombie it happened again....

at the moment, didn't play too long.. but i think that this game is fun and different from other same genre of zombies game. as i like parkour style game also.. haha..

Hi...Im using i5 with gtx970 but when i play this game...it really lag to just 10-20 fps, even when few zombies around. This was tested at high settings in which I thought my card can handle...apparently not. Any idea what setting should I lower...thanks

woah. 10-20fps? did you use Fraps to check the fps? even 30fps quite hurt for me to play. your gtx970 should be able to play at high setting with 40-50fps. some users claim the game is not well optimize for pc. you might wanna consider to disable the anti-aliasing n try to change to medium. still look awesome on medium settings. im using gtx650ti 2gb.

ya i am using fraps to check...without much movement its around 55-60 but when near zombies it dropped quite drastically...i will try medium setting but hmpph...thought my card can handle all high settings!!! fcuk me

Trying reducing View Distance to minimum, it is always the main culprit for FPS drop instead of the texture and shadows. Possible Processor Bottleneck instead of GPU problem.

There's very little difference between minimum and max LOD(view distance) setting. Mainly just prettier foliage, but the performance impact is huge for very little difference. Try it and see for yourself.

You can also try disabling film grain. It increases performance, supposedly. I don't know how true this is, but you can try it out if you're desperate for FPS. You'll have to google to find out how to do this..

Seems like the game has a memory leak bug that will occur after 1 hour+ of continuous play. Techland is working on a patch (lol as usual).

Also like a few others have said, drop LOD to 20 or less. Going higher causes a huge frametime judder, no matter what card you're on and whatever res you play at.

Playing at medium resolution and no special effects (AA) for me can have the game going at 5 hours+ continuous. Seems like alot of problems cropped up when you attempted to max the graphics and effects.

Playing at night time only totally makes the game a stealth game as normal infected became semi runners.

After Survivor level 12, this game became Spiderman/Just Cause 2.

am using r9 290 dcu ii and the graphics are sluggish ... hopefully amd release a new driver soon that optimized for dying light ....

I see this game got lvl does it matter?

Like how high lvl player come in play with low lvl player do they,high lvl player jz one hit all the zombie?

like lowlvl using those steam pipe , and high lvl using modded gear,
few hit zombie dead.

What does... "medium" resolution even mean?

Playing at 1440p and despite having 16GB of RAM, I still get memory leak after an hour or so of gameplay. It's stupid.

Medium for all tune-able settings, 900p, smooth and good fps for midrange GPUs and aging CPUs.




Gear level is proportional with Survivor level, at higher survivor level, players will get better loot and gear from any sources including the quartermasters/merchant. Your pipe probably have 20 damage at level 1 while a level 20 Crane can have up to 600-700 damage modded katana. And they are higher insta kill moves on higher level too.

Loot in coop spawned differently for different players just like Diablo 3. Opening a police van may spawn your friend a shotgun and you only got a shitty knife.

No men leak for me on both comp. buy ori ppl.

based on nvidia optimized setting at distance of 80. min fps now at 60. max fps i hit was 140@1440p.

cpu usage seems to be indoors 4 threads and outdoor 8 threads.

hmm gonna up the cpu speed. was only running at default 4.4ghz@1.136v
lets see how 4.7ghz does.
Also gonna run tighter timings on the ram. Really suspect its a ram thing also. This game requires optimized setups rather than one sided system.

any gtx 770 2gb user with 1440p panel? wanna ask about performance before buying this game.

rehecked. bumping cpu speed from 4.4 to 4.7 and tightening my rams.. only gave a slight bump... min 65fps max 144fps.....

outside only when looking around it hovers between 65-80fps. running around doing mission around 100-110fps.

so the patch etc is working great.

Just bought few hours ago after realized both of my nephews already bought and gaming for almost 24hrs
Now downloading, hopefully morning can game a bit to level up then join multiplayer.

If buy from steam must manual patch or download with auto patched already?
I'm running GTX 750 Ti, fire up Dying light and just before menu it crashes and exited me to Win 7 Ultimate.
Other games run ok.
What is wrong..... I downloaded the latest Nvidia driver already.
Tried going back to old driver, I can load menu but while browsing menu it crashes and kicked me out again.
Have even checked game integrity in steam.
Arghh...

How much Ram do you have?

Check in Nvidia Control Panel whether did it detect the game file under Manage 3d Settings/Program Settings

Tick Show only programs found in this computer
Check The list under select program.

Advice to use Geforce experience to optimize the settings. Do it after you have launch the game for the first time.

If u overclock you can push it under custom slider.

8GB RAM. GPU itself is more than minimum requirements.
I checked Steam forum and it seems that I'm not the only one affected with this issue / bug.
So many others can't even start the game and crashes out from Windows. Some have render error, whilst some can run the game but need to set graphics to low / disable some features / underclock to avoid crash.

Ah, I took out the card and put my old but trusty HD 5770 and everything runs ok.

My 750ti is up for sale, just bought another ATI card

I was a collector before. I collect books and stack em up nicely on my cabinet. Until I got into university and left my collection at home for months. When I came back I saw most of my collection are either gone or badly damaged... turned out it was my nephews who often paid visit to my parents house and took those books away and (some) were never returned back again..

Frustrated to the max, I ditched everything. Now if I were to collect anything it would be digital copies. I don't even keep documents, I scan them and save in HDD and cloud storage (as backup). That's how afraid I am of losing physical copies anymore.. macam fobia pulak

Dying light is quite addictive. Yesterday was on single player then decided to go matchmaking. Found a host and joined. Within minutes got 2 other people joined and we were fighting zombies together.

But not so syok session. Those guys were like fighting for themselves. I offered them weapon but they just ignored me (heck it's the korek machete yo! and this person was just using some pipe thing). I know lah I'm noob but joining multiplayer to feel like single player is urgh.. pathetic. There was no coop. In one scene a player launched an airstrike and I was hit by it and fell down.. I was screaming help help on mic and keyboard.. the fella just ignored

This weekend will play with my nephews. So good to play with someone you know

Play the story until your in the Second map of the city which called old town.. Go to the third safe house which has "only cable line to go into the safe house" not the first safe house or the second safe house.

The first safe house its the one you have newly reached to the second map and the second safe house is a freaking tall building the "Clock Tower".

So for the third safe house which you need to cross the cables and its like 2 floors down from the cable. From there you can see very clearly on the road there is lots of zombies and you can shoot one by one.(You should have a gun by now) farm on top of the cables(The zombies cant reach you from that height and no buildings for them to climb up nice spot to farm at night)

Out of bullet? Sleep the day off and buy it again from the trader.

level up for another 5, 6 levels for three different skills set,
and you can rekt all of them during the night.

I wanna ask, how many maps does this game offers?
I'm still in the Slums, but I think I'm going to the second map soon,

completed the game...the last part of going back to slums through sewers was challenging...died many times...a lot running and jumping...ok...going to delete the game tonight
