I saw the match last nite, it like watching a training match. If Barca continue on their momentum on the 2nd half, surely can get up to 10-0. Fabregas was instrumental in many goals, and I think MU can forget about getting Fabregas

Goooool Neymar! 1-1

Full Time: 1 - 1

Iniesta worst player of the match for Barca...
Atletico with brilliant pressing in the first half and early second half.
Busquets lucky to avoid a second yellow card.

Sanchez has been impressive in each of the matches he played in this season. Finally he is being utilized correctly after being wasted by Pep and Tito's tactics.

An article from a couple of days ago.

QUOTE
Xavi Hernández has won his 25th major title, and his 22nd with FCB, to make him the most successful player in Spanish football history. He also broke the record for minutes played in the Spanish Supercup, 1,162, and has tied with Guardiola and Amor for the most games in the competition, 14.

Last night was the sixth time Xavi has won the Supercup, a tally he shares with Txiki Beguiristain and Bakero, as well as current team-mates Víctor Valdés, Puyol and Iniesta. The last player to win five Spanish Supercups was ex Real Madrid star Manolo Sanchís.

Anyways, with this hattrick, Messi became the first ever player in La Liga history to score 100 away goals in La Liga.

Messi - 125 away games, 100 away goals.
Hugo Sanchez - 170 away games, 99 away goals.
Ral Gonzalez - 270 away games, 87 away goals.

Update:
Squad number 19 and 23 that were previously vacant have been assigned to Afellay and Cuenca respectively. Both players were registered for the CL squad of 25 as well.

Both were originally intended to be loaned out, but injuries hampered the loan deals.

Edit:
Estimated return-to-fitness time for Afellay is... December 2013.

Early October for Cuenca.

Just sharing something that I only learned today.

Sept 11 (yesterday) is the National Day Of Catalonia!

QUOTE
FC Barcelona celebrate the National Day of Catalonia

Catalonia celebrates the National Day of Catalonia this Wednesday, September 11, with a series of events that started off with the traditional floral offering at the Rafael Casanova monument in Barcelona. FC Barcelona was represented at the event by vice-presidents Carles Vilarrubí and Jordi Cardoner.

The directors Jordi Moix, Jordi Mestre, Dídac Lee and Josep Ramon Vidal-Abarca accompanied Vilarrubí and Cardoner at the event. The FC Barcelona entourage was not only made up of members from the Board of Directors, it also boasted the presence of of managers and players from the Club's professional teams, Club committee members, representatives from the Club’s Women’s team and youth football, and members from the Barça Players Association. President Sandro Rosell was unable to attend due to prior engagements with the ECA in Geneva.

Tata Martino’s first ‘Diada’

The manager Tata Martino, who was accompanied by Gerard Piqué, experienced his first National Day of Catalonia. Manager Xavi Pascual (handball), Ricardo Muñoz and Aitor Egurrola (roller hockey), and Marc Carmona and Jordi Torras (futsal) also attended the event. Víctor Tomás was unable to attend due to illness. The Club’s basketball manager and captain were also not able to attend because the team is currently in Andorra preparing for the upcoming season. However, the team’s technical secretary, Joan Creus, the Barça B manager Aleix Duran and Barça B player Nick Spires were in attendance. The entourage was complete with Xavi Llorens and Vicky Losada (FCB Women’s Team) and various representatives from the team’s youth academy.

In addition to FC Barcelona, the Barça Players Association, represented its president, Ramon Alfonseda, also offered up a floral offering at the Rafael Casanova monument.

NO Pedro.
QUOTE
The manager is happy with the condition of the players that have returned from international duty, although he has decided to give Pedro a rest because “we have to think about how much the players have been playing and Pedro worked very hard against Chile”.
On the injury front:
QUOTE
Carles Puyol was able to join some of today’s training session, and that is of course good news for Martino because “it means we’ll have the third centre back that so many people are talking about, and it also means the team will get its captain back. He was happy to have been able to train with the team for the first time. I’m sure we’ll get him working harder next week and after the Real Sociedad game we should be able to start arranging more formal training for him”.
On Messi & Neymar's fitness:
QUOTE
As for Neymar and Messi, the duo that travelled the furthest this week, Martino commented that “we’ll see how they’re feeling on Saturday and decide whether they are fit enough to play the whole match or not”.

No promotion.

B / reserve teams do not get to be in the same division as the main team. Nor play in Copa Del Rey. Other than that, they get promoted / relegated like every other team.

If the main team is relegated to the division in which its reserve side are in, the reserve team is automatically relegated to the division below the main team. Villarreal B suffered this fate in 2011-2012 season.

Just watched the full match (while enjoying cadbury choc bar tongue.gif), pretty much tiki-taka vs total football with the upper hand goes to Barca.

Lucky Valdes to save the penalty nod.gif

Tata is really using the squad rotation to the fullest. Me gusta!

This time it is Busquets' turn getting a rest as he is omitted from the travelling squad to Rayo.

QUOTE
The dropped Busquets is the only change from the squad that played Ajax

Puyol is left out, but joined the squad for part of the final training session before departing for Madrid.

FC Barcelona will be taking a squad of 19 players to Madrid. The coaches have decided to rest Sergio Busquets, while the other players as the same as the ones that faced Ajax. So, Tata Martino, who is flying straight to Madrid from Argentina and will be waiting for the team there, will need to drop one more player from the definitive squad to take on Rayo Vallecano.

The injured Carles Puyol, Jordi Alba, Isaac Cuenca and Ibrahim Afellay all stay behind as well.

Final session

Before the squad was announced, the players met one last time to train before heading for Madrid on Saturday morning. Gerard Piqué, despite his minor injury worries, was with them as, as was Carles Puyol. Both players were able to train with the others, but only the former has been included in the list.

If Tata is gonna use the same lineup (- Sergio) that he used against Ajax, with the best result 4-0 and best form of them, I think we can get straight 5 wins for the league games against Rayo tonight.

Actually im kinda suprised with our posession stats last night. Less than 50% ??? First time we had such posession since 2008.

I like tata, but please dont change our style. Hopefully what montoya said is true - pitch condition forced them to play long ball.

I was away from civilization from yesterday noon until this evening. First 2 things that greeted me on Internet when I came back:

1) Barca won 2-0
2) Official: Further tests today have confirmed that Messi has a thigh muscle injury and that he will be out for two to three weeks #fcblive

doh.gif

Guess either Cesc or neymar will get a run in the false 9 position until Messi's back.

I guess its for his own good. Argentina already qulified so he will have 3 weeks rest before classico.

Cesc is slow. But his best performance come from attacking midfield role not false 9.

Perhaps tata can try sanchez there.

Neymar - sanchez - pedro
---------------- cesc ----------------

Barca Official XI: Valdés, Alves, Piqué, Bartra, Adriano, Song, Xavi, Cesc, Alexis, Neymar, Tello

Based on the starting lineup, Neymar SHOULD be playing in the central position either as a 9 or false 9.

Anyway im impressed with sanchez last nite. Could had a hat trick but unselfishly gave the ball to neymar. Neymar kinda remind me of the ol ronny tho. Its like u keep waiting whats he gonna do next?

If we sell Song, who will play DM?

JDS can do it but that's not what he's good at.
He is a deep lying playmaker like Xavi.

S. Roberto is a box to box midfielder.

We can only sell Song if we have someone to replace him with and at the moment we don't.

Just suggesting. Put masch in DM, which is what he is good at. I believe now that he is way more confident than he was in his 1st season with us, he can calmly keep hold or recycle possession, besides his astounding tenacity at defending which is IMO more suited for DM than CB. You need a physically strong and of decent height to be a good CB, he may fit for the former but definitely not the latter. He has no doubt done an outstanding job so far, but is also partly the reason we are leaking goals from set pieces. Because he is physically no-match for the big germans or the faster strikers around.

So sell song, put masch in his place, get a decent CB. I still think we have missed out on rami. He could've come to us, and for a much more decent price tag compared to likes of silva or luiz.

Coz too expensive. The rumored price was around 35 million, for a 19 yr old with only one good season in bag. Add to the fact that PSG was interested, his salary demand sky-rocketed as well.

Latest rumor for new CB signing is Balanta of River Plate. The previous CB target Vergini is no longer in the picture it seems.

You mean use sMasch as a DM back up instead of Song?
I don't think sMasch would be too enthusiastic at that notion.

I do agree that it's time that we get a good CB.

But... but... even FIFA President made fun of him tongue.gif

QUOTE
Blatter was asked at the Oxford University Union on Friday for his opinion on Real Madrid and Portugal forward Ronaldo and Barcelona's World Player of the Year Lionel Messi.

Ronaldo was the last player to land the World Player award in 2008 before Argentine Messi won four in a row.

Blatter said they were both exceptional players but added that, unlike Messi, Ronaldo resembled "a commander on the field of play". He then rose from his chair and strutted on the stage in military fashion in apparent imitation of the Portuguese.

"One (Ronaldo) has more expenses for the hairdresser than the other but that doesn't matter," he added to widespread laughter. "I cannot say who is the best, there will again be a contest this year - I like both of them but I prefer Messi."

Quoted from this article
The irony part is... Blatter is an honorary member of RM and self-declared RM fan.

We won 3-0 away to Celta Vigo, but it came at a heavy price. Adriano is apparently injured (again). If he is out, then we'll be LB-less.

Martino: "Adriano was subbed off out of precaution, he had discomfort in his thigh. We'll see what the tests say tomorrow."

Lead until 2nd half thanks to Pedro & Neymar.
Extended another 2 goals by Cesc.
Silly mistake by Puyol almost cost us and been saved.
Silly challenge in the stoppage time by Dani Alves gave Betis a penalty and conceded 1 goal.

Full time 1-4.

The injury list is long.

Main ones are Messi & Valdes (expected return in 2014)

Also out injured for different length of time are Pique, Alba, Tello, Xavi, Alves, Dos Santos, Cuenca, Afellay...

That's 10 out of the 25-man squad KO'ed.

$25 million sponsorship deal with Intel, for Intel logo printed INSIDE the jerseys!

user posted image

QUOTE
FC Barcelona has reached an agreement with Intel for the globally prestigious multinational computing company to become a worldwide sponsor of the Club. Thanks to this agreement, Intel will become an official technological sponsor, which will help FC Barcelona to become one of the most technologically advanced clubs in the world.

The collaborative spirit between the two organisations will be reflected on the new FC Barcelona shirt, which will feature the Intel Inside logo on the inside. This is the first time the shirt has ever featured a logo in such a position. The new shirt was presented today at FC Barcelona’s Ciutat Esportiva in Sant Joan Despí by club president Sandro Rosell, and Intel’s Chief Marketing Officer Deborah Conrad, as well as players Carles Puyol and Gerard Piqué. The team will wear the new shirt for the first time in Saturday’s league match with Villarreal.

Tello...

On normal form, people label him as a one-trick pony who relies on his pace only. A similar description also given to Walcott during his early days.

When on-form, some compared him to Thierry Henry due to similar finishing-style.

Deulofeu is better overall, talent-wise. Almost as pacey as Tello, but everything else (except willingness in tracking-back to help the defence, and selfishness) is superior.

Bad news:

Neymar out of the match squad vs Getafe due to gastroenteritis. Xavi, who is earlier reported to be injured, was called up as replacement of Neymar.

Worrying since this is so close to the top-of-the-table clash with Atletico.

Barca rating - My humble opinion
Valdes - 8 Was not tested as much as we would have expected him to be but he did well with whatever Atletico threw at him
Dani - 5 Should really have started Montoya instead. Absolutely bullied by felipe luis , making our jordi at LB look like a minnow compared to his opposite number.
Pique - 8 A solid rock at the back, showing that if he remains focus and attention he is really one of the best at CB. But these performances can be few and far apart.
Masch - 7 Quick in tackling but rash at the same time, snuffed out some dangerous attacks and put it to bed with split second closing downs. Lucky not be sent off.
Jordi - 7 Very lop sided as a lot of attacking came from this flank, while dani's flank was almost fruitless in attack. Did some good defending as well.
Sergio - 8 Nervy start that saw him conceded a few careless possesions but warmed up to the game and was his usual self after that. He makes Alba and Masch (Left side) look like formidable defensive area as he helped out a lot. However if Arda/Gabi got pass sergio its almost a good chance being created each and every time. That is how crucial Sergio is to us.
Iniesta - 6 Contributed to the attack but was not advanced enough to deal damage, often as deep as xavi, at times deeper, as he had to come out of the congested two lines of 4 to retrieve posession. Partnership with jordi is as if jordi has never been injured at all. Credits to both players.
Xavi - 8 Rarely gave up posession and was key in recycling possession and spraying plays, but IMO too conservative in attacking play, often playing sideways and not forwards. However it is a double edged sword as more direct plays results in more open play and competition for loose balls, and atleti are superior in this aspect and can turn on the counter and hurt us. The way xavi played in this game is probably a more conservative tactic from Tata.
Alexis - 5 With Dani, formed our almost useless right flank, esp in the first half. If any of them were more effective, we would be able to pin Gabi and Luis back and they would not have hurt us that much on the counter. Same reason Costa was comparatively, to his own high standards, below par because alba and iniesta (1st 45) or alba/xavi (2nd 45) was further up the field and costa had to defend.
*Same goes to Villa who again, sergio pretty much dealt with much ease. El Guaje is, sadly, a shadow of himself.
Cesc - 6 As a false 9 in the 1st half, did not have space to produce anything, and often drifted wide, esp to the right, that congested what little space alexis can exploit, although i doubt if alexis had the space could have dealt much more damage judging by his form in this match.
Pedro - 7 Our most dangerous player in the first half, and worked really hard throughout 90 minutes, in 2nd half very much neutralised the influence of felipe after shifting to the right but dani's failure to keep track of arda turan means a lot of atleti's attack still came from the left. While pedro drifted to the right after neymar came on, we can almost immediately see the difference in susceptibility to atleti's attack on our left flank, diego costa, diego godin and koke started to outplay busquets and alba. Neymar is simply not as good as pedro when it comes to tracking back and shielding the wing.

Subs
Messi - 7 Did with what little service he had and made 2 glorious chances, although i thought if he had not headed the ball (which went wide0, pedro was in a superb position behind him, and i will not have it against pedro to score in that position. But hey, a lot of what ifs.. Thats what makes the game beautiful eh? A fraction here or there it would've been anybody's game.
Neymar - 6 Had pace down the flank and end product was found wanting, a lot better towards the end of the game when he tried drifting into the middle instead of running to the byline. Chemistry with messi has a lot to be desired.
Sergi roberto - 5 Good exposure for him i guess, but first touch often let him down.

Tata - Very brave to have started without messi/neymar but i did not expect messi to be introduced that soon. I hope Iniesta is not injured.. Which may explain the early substitution. Neymar could have came on first for iniesta, and running diego godin tired before bringing messi on at about 70 minutes when atleti getting tired will be ideal. While Song could have been brought on instead of Sergi? To match the steel of gabi, Arda and Costa and also i find that Song suits us when we are playing counter attacking, which is good when atleti seems more eager to get all 3 points. Our best chance, messi's shot saved by curtois was from a counter attack. Song can intercept balls higher up the pitch and find xavi or fab, or even find one of the front 3 guys which he does occasionally, which launches a counter attack.

Anyway, just my 2 cents. I am not a professional manager/player. I am just a long time hardcore Barca fan. Guys please give me your opinions as well, if you do not agree do shed light. I wish I could do this more often as posts in this thread has gone very much void of discussions and debate.

Regardless, Hala Barca! tongue.gif I mean, Visca el Barca!

Football without Messi is so much different. Absolute joy to watch him run at defenders!

There are only a few others in my lifetime who are so exciting to watch, Ronaldo pre Inter days and Ronaldinho pre Milan days.

Dropped 2 valuable points after 1-1 draw against Levante but luckily for us that ATM failed to win at their home turf.
Still, the Madrid duo pressuring us for the title race.

Very loud rumors buzzing around that we managed to secure the transfer of Alen Halilovich. He's born in 1996, and already capped for the Croatian international senior team.

Most likely going to be put in the B team for a few years.

Confirmed: Valdes out for 6 months with injury to his anterior cruciate ligament. Out for the season, out for the World Cup.

This might also complicate our hunt for GKs.

And we'll have good ol' Pinto for the remaining of our season.

January 1988, league match between Velez Sarsfield and NOB, 17 years old Diego Simeone played against Gerardo Martino. Martino got a red card for a challenge against Simeone.

"He reacted to something, i exaggerated a bit and the ref ended up sending him off" Simeone admitted of play acting. "The ref sent me off 10 minutes later, compensated a little for his earlier decision"

Appealing the decision grants a stay of sanctions until the CAS hearing. Theoretically, it would take months before a decision is made, thus enabling us to buy in Summer 2014, and get the ban for Winter 2014 and Summer 2015 if the appeal failed.

So that is it, no cup this season, congrate to RM, they were the better team, i hope we will come back strong nex season. The moment neymar strike hits the pole i knew it isnt our nite to win. To many things happen to us this season, with neymar transfer controversy, sandro rosell resignation, then the youth transfer controversy, valdes injury our defenders injured n so on, there were too many things unsettle in barca. We desperately need a couple of new defenders. Under tata style of playing, we need a solid central defenders, unlike during pep n tito era, where we control the ball very well, now tiki taka is almost non existent under tata. Neymar will improved nex season, i believe he can. Messi, my theory regarding his sur par performance lately is because he wants to avoid any injury due to world cup, im believed he will back to his old self. Batra played well tonight, too bad bales was just to strong for him. All the best for next season.

Today is a horrible day.

1st I overslept and missed the match.

Then wake up go check result; we lost to a late goal.

Then go to /K and found out Tiger Of Jelutong passed away in an accident.

Don't feel like going to work sad.gif

Well said there bro, it couldn't help. Luck isn't on our side, perhaps you're forgetting the Supercup that we won early in the season. At least that's the cup we've got this season.
Last season (La Liga) was solid one considered we dominate the 1st spot from 1st match until the end of the campaign. This season wasn't so lucky.

Pls make buying a new central defender the no.1 priority in the transfer window. They have neglected this for the past few seasons. Always relying on Pique, Puyol and makeshift central defenders - Mascherano, Busquets, and even once Adriano!

Yup, need fresh ones for the first team. Already got big shots for attacking and middle but lack for defensive.

oh yeah, we got supercup, forgot bout that. but that one was early season, and i believe the team was still played based on tito/pep foundation. i dun really convinced with tata style, it is just to direct. tiki taka is almost non existence. that is one of our biggest strength. honestly im kinda worried wt our situation in the near future.

From Barca's official site:

QUOTE
Tito Vilanova, a life dedicated to FC Barcelona

He was the manager in the season of 100 points, the highest total ever for FC Barcelona

A product of La Masia, Vilanova was part of the greatest Barça team of all time

On April 25 2014, at the age of 45, Tito passed away after a long struggle against the illness which was first diagnosed two and a half years earlier.

This is one of the most tragic times in the entire history of FC Barcelona. The news that has shocked the football and sporting world is that Francesc ‘Tito’ Vilanova i Bayo (Bellcaire d’Empordà, 17/09/1968 – Barcelona 25/04/2014), a man admired and loved by everyone, has passed away at the age of 45 after failing to overcome the illness that forced him to resign from his duties as first team manager.

Tito Vilanova was the manager in FC Barcelona’s record-breaking season of 2012/13, when the team got 100 points in the league, and contributed to the greatest Barça team of all time as assistant coach to Pep Guardiola. He won everybody’s admiration for his achievements in the football world, and later for his immense courage in the final years of his life.

President Josep Maria Bartomeu spoke on behalf of the Board of Directors today when he said on social networks that “Tito Vilanova was a wonderful person, and will never be forgotten at FC Barcelona. Thank you for everything you taught us. May you rest in peace.”

FC Barcelona is offering its unconditional support to Tito Vilanova’s family, his wife Montse and his children Carlota and Adrià, the latter a player in the Barça academy.

Barça in his heart

Vilanova was brave, honest, hard-working, perfectionist, methodical, pragmatic and intuitive on both a personal and a professional level, and always remained loyal to the club and to himself, as defined by two of his companions from his youth right through to his managerial days, Jordi Roura and Aureli Altimira.

Tito Vilanova came to the club at the age of 15, when he came on trial from UE Figueres in the 1984/85 season.

He had just turned 16 when he stepped into La Masia for the first time, and remained there as a resident until June 30, 1989. It was there that he forged a close friendship with Guardiola, Jordi Roura and Aureli Altimira, with whom he would later share so much success on the Barça coaching staff.

‘The Marquis’, as he was known at the time, was a tall, lanky midfielder, with exceptional skill, especially renowned for his free kicks and how he read the game. As a Barça player, Tito featured in two friendlies for the first team in 1989 and later played for Figueres, Celta, Badajoz, Mallorca, Lleida, Elche and finally Gramenet, where he retired from active duty.

As a coach, Vilanova was analytical, cerebral and observant and was famed for the amount of gestures he used make as he directed his teams. Those that worked alongside him considered him a tactical genius in a job for which his nature could not have been better suited.

He first started coaching at FC Barcelona in charge of the U14 team that included future stars like Gerard Piqué, Cesc Fàbregas and Leo Messi. After that, he coached at Palafrugell, Figueres and Terrassa.

He returned to FCB in 2007/08, this time as assistant manager to Pep Guardiola with Barça B, who he helped guide to promotion up to Division 2B.

The year after, the Guardiola-Tito tandem took over the first team, and led it to fourteen major titles in four years. The team rewrote the record books in 2009 by winning all six trophies at stake: the Champions league, La Liga, the Spanish Cup, the Spanish Supercup, the European Supercup and the Clubs World Cup.

First team manager

On April 27, 2012 Tito Vilanova was the natural choice to take over from the departing Pep Guardiola as FC Barcelona first team manager. Director of Sport Andoni Zubizarreta considered it the natural progression and the best way to continue Pep’s legacy, and his choice was fully supported by then president Sandro Rosell and the rest of the Board.

The results showed that this had been a wise decision, for Barça won the league. They dominated the championship, leading the table from the very first day and getting 100 points out of a possible 114 to equal Real Madrid’s record from 2011/12. The team also set a new goalscoring record with its 115 goals in 38 games, an average of three goals a game.

The total of 32 wins, four draws and just two defeats, eventually beating Madrid by 15 clear points, are testimony of the outstanding job that Tito Vilanova did as manager of FC Barcelona that 2012/13 season. Barça’s 22th Liga, that of Tito and Abidal, will never be forgotten. What’s more, the team reached the semi-finals of the Champions League and the Spanish Cup, narrowly missing out on a place in both finals.

His achievement won him plenty of individual accolades. In 2013 the ‘Marca’ and ‘Mundo Deportivo’ newspapers both named him manager of the year. Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes was invited to present the Catalan paper’s award, which was collected on his behalf by Zubizarreta. In his speech, Heynckes spoke emotionally about Vilanova, saying that “under Tito the team has played fantastic football, like in other years. Tito is a great football strategist. He’s hard-working, reserved and valiant, and has a direct, fluid relation with his players. He has a positive sense of human values. He has not only set an example for the sporting world, but for the world in general with his outstanding elegance. I wish him all the luck he deserves. He’s a champion of sport and of life.”

Unfortunately, the illness announced on November 22, 2011 brought an early end to the dream of managing the team he held so close to his heart. He was unable to dedicate his full effort to the task in the 2012/13 season, and at the start of the following campaign, it was announced on July 19, 2013, that he was not well enough to continue in the position.

On April 25 2014, at the age of 45, Tito passed away after a long struggle against the illness which was first diagnosed two and a half years earlier.

Barça will cherish his memory forever. He will always form part of the club’s proud history. He shall be eternally remembered.

May he rest in peace.

this is the current standing,

P W D L GD PTS
Atletico 36 28 4 4 51 88
Barcelona 36 27 4 5 67 85
Real Madrid 36 26 6 4 66 84

remaining games are 2, maximum of 6 pts ,

If Atletico wins their next two games(meaning beat us in the final game) - Atletico win Liga
If Atletico and Barca wins the next game, RM will be out from the title contender.
If Barca wins their next two games including beating Atletico, the total point will be 91pts, and we will win the Liga because of better head to head record,( our first meeting is draw 1-1)
If Barca and Atletico wins next game, but draw in the final game, Atletico wins by 92pts.

please add more scenarios but basically the obvious part is that if our team wana win the Liga, we have/must wins the last 2 remaining games.

So all eyes on 3 matches tonight.

Celta vs RM. Let's see what our supposedly new manager next season Luis Enrique can do to RM.

Atletico vs Malaga. Don't think the current Malaga squad have what it takes to draw or beat Atletico. Please do prove me wrong lol.

And finally, Elche vs Barca. A tricky away match. Elche is unbeaten at home for 9 matches in a row. They will also come out all-fighting as they needed 1 more point to avoid relegation.

Conceded a 2nd defensive howler, and it's Celta 2-0 up.

Another annoying result, demm elche parking the bus.. But our performance really disappointing, im not sure we can beat Atletico like this. Seriously I missed tiki taka, I missed our beautiful play, passes, and possession, a total football, but now we r playing long ball??? Im thinking even if we miraculously win the liga, I think Tata shud leave, his style doesnt seem effective for our team, he may succeed in epl tho with this play style provided with physical build player. We need defender and a good keeper too. Anyway I wish n hope n pray we beat Atletico next week, cant accept another draw already, I missed us winning a game, even if it is our final game.

This season is really something, epl was decided in last match too, but I think la liga is even more epic, winner take it all. Xcept ofcoz a draw already good enough for Atletico, our only advantages are playing at home and Atletico still need to focus ucl final against real madrid. I hope Atletico wine the ucl final, with that the top 3 la liga wins a cup each, rm already has copa de ray, Atletico can hav the ucl, n us the liga hopefully.

hmm, last game as title decided...but the team form has been quite bad over the season. and if we didn't win anything, i hope the board and managing should realize that some changes is desperate needed ...

The players keep on saying that they will play the remaining X games like it's a final but I've yet to see them play 80% of their capacity.

They did run more but that's about it. No game plan, no chemistry.
It seems that they lost all their abilities.

And Tata please stop with the crosses tactics. You're not Moyes aren't you?

I don't believe that one bit! They are all professionals who are paid by the club to perform.
Why wasn't the same said in 2010, 2012? Why this year all of a sudden the players are reserving for the WC when we are in the running for the Liga?
No other team in the world are reserving for the WC.
This excuse is clutching straws at its best.

The players do run and try but they are just clueless.
No tactics, no triangles or team work whatsoever.
I've said this multiple times this season, it look like the players forgot to pass, move, offer, receive pass.
They forgot their winning formula.

Sort-of expected news:

Luis Enrique announced decision to quit Celta Vigo at the end of the season. The reason cited was he left his family in Barcelona, and it has been hard on him.

So Tata out, Luis Enrique in, for next season

Congrats to atletico, deserving champion, hope they win ucl too. It is painful to watch how our team play this season, tactical all wrong, playing like no idea or strategy, i think we need a new manager. Tata style doesnt suit us.

Start the campaign with style (until midway though) ends with a draw in the last league game, giving away the title champion to ATM. Honestly, they deserves it since they've been tailing us since the beginning and giving us a hard time. And over the past few seasons, they improving so much that they've become champs this season.
Congrats Atletico.

David Luiz is going to PSG, so that's one CB target being taken out of the equation.

I expected a frenzy of transfer announcement this week, but other than Monday, it is all disappointingly quiet. Bear in mind that this transfer season we need to have enough to cover for the likely transfer ban for the next two windows.

I dont like him either, but he fit the Sanchez role better, he cover the field better than Sanchez
IMO, Sanchez did play hard during Barca days but he just cant perform as expected
We only can hope that Suarez will change his attitude if club landed him for that price

Good for us now that we have signed 2 new CBs. Though i question the price tag of 20 million for 30-yr old Mathieu

Group F consists Barca, Ajax, PSG and APOEL which is nice.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic were once part of Ajax and Barca and currently part of PSG.
3 teams - 1 man

On the league campaign, Barca is the only team that have 100% winning intact (2/2 wins).
Too bad Real Madrid lost after led 0-2 during first 10 minutes.

Ajax and PS$ is turning into Milan and Celtic now, our regular teams in CL.

Great match again against Villareal. They are really hungry.
I'm happy that Munir and Sandro got the nod over Deulofeu.
They're much better than Deulofeu. They may not be so skillful but football isn't 100% skill.
You need a whole lot of brain which is something Deulofeu lacks.

It was good considering that their star player was in the bench. I thought Madrid gonna feast Sociedad but in the end the table was turned. rclxms.gif
