thinking the similar person now:

xu fu's role to japan

similar to

Zhenghe's role to Malaysia/Indonesia hmm.gif

unless xu fu lived for 500 years, he's probably not

He was immortalized as demigods so its not surprised that people brought him to 'life' through time and mentioned his existence frequently.

or your theories are absolutely wrong. it's like saying that since americans still mention george washington, then lincoln, roosevelt, kennedy and obama are all george washington too.

that's the point many historians claimed.

lucky that zhenghe didn't leave much effect on the language in S.E asia or the smiliar argument will come back like xu fu is the shin wu tian huang doh.gif

the transmission of language doesnt come from one encounter - it comes from repeated interactions over a long period of time. the chinese did leave a lot of linguistical contributions to the se asian languages, but with the repeated interactions by traders.

Xu Fu's achievements in reaching Japan by sea show the ancient Chinese people had a good mastery of the technologies and knowledge on oceangoing navigation. Today, Xu Fu's tomb can still be found in Wakayama (Japan), with the inscription of "Tomb of Xu Fu of the Qin Dynasty (221-206BC)."

Japanese people worship him as an ancestor and there are even sites of Xu Fu's tomb, Xu Fu's palace and Xu Fu's cliff. In 1991, a park named after Xu Fu was opened in a Japanese city. People worship him every autumn and hold a grand ceremony every 50 years
*
as far as i know, the temples are to commemorate his introduction of new farming techniques, including silk, as a 'god of silk'.

the jomon existed thousands of years before xu fu. xu fu may have arrived in japan - but if he wants to be the ancestor to the japanese he'd need to have come to japan much much much earlier

It is highly believed that jomon were teo chew goh/ wu . Wu/ goh played a major role in the han dynasty too and both coexisted happily together and there is no issue between them.

They are like one happy family today.
*
no. the jomon were paleolithic, meaning they were over 5000 years old, going through the ice age and stuff.

in contrast, the wu at most goes back to 1000 bc. unless the spring and autumn annals included a long ice age winter, then probably not.

also, xu fu is not an ancestor deity.

tat's coz prince albert, queen victoria's husband was german
*
actually the whole royal family is technically german. due to the intermarriages, most of the protestant monarchs are cousins. e.g. upon ww1, the brit king and german kaisers were cousins.

Not only Germans, but French (Normans), Vikings and Celtics. bastards royals.

actually normans (basically the ruling house of most of northern europe) are pretty much vikings.

so you have normans ruling gauls in france and anglo-saxons in england. liken a very complicated age of empires game lol
