ok, so i notice the miragen 217 has got shocks... where other models dont have... hmm.. its also heavier... during my mtb time, i had a hardtail... now that i see both front and rear of the 217 has got shocks, does this mean its going to be harder to pedal or takes more effort to pedal on the road?
*
Shocks on normal road will surely give you shock absorbing features (potholes, bumpers) but eventually most will agree that you'll feel tired faster hmm.gif

Anyway, i have my shocks turned on all the way icon_rolleyes.gif

what do these agents do?    So if I interested in some item, I just ask these agents to quote me and buy for me and arrange to deliver to me too?  All I do is pay them, right?

Mind you that bicycle parts will incur extra charges from the customs.. I've bought few items before from USA. And it tends to 'stay' at the customs for at least a day or two.. In my case, 3 freaking days..

Ahh, just had my night ride tonight.. Wifey asked for a KitKat, decided to go with bike (to Speed Mart) instead of by car.. had some sweating night though there were some very minimal raindrops.. My chain fell off the FD again (selamat dah sampai rumah), i need to figure out why and eliminate that.. Anyway, any night ride must be with at least a reflector and or lights! icon_rolleyes.gif

Keep on riding guys! icon_idea.gif

There are 2 screws side by side on the FD, for that matter also on the RD. They are the limiter screws for maximum internal and external travel of the FD. You need to limit the travel so the chain won't fall off the chain rings. hmm.gif

Yupp tried that just now.. i"ll put my bike on test tomorrow night then (if time permits).. but anyway, this kinda interesting too..

No bicycles that i know has ABS equipped. No matter how good the brakes are, once the tire is locked, it'll just slide.. Now, it comes to your tires for that extra grip and extra drag? I think everyone should know how to brake instead of changing to better brakes.. If you braking hard on your front brake with your best brake, be ready to become a superman. If you brake hard on your rear brake, be prepared to slide on dude!~

The best is to know how to brake.. Do a sprint and brake all you can to stop.. See how you handle that situation..

Maybe i ride motorcycles before, my balance is there though my rear wheels are locked. That was during my encounter, a near miss running through a child as he came out from in between parked cars (I rode along my housing area) and that time i was using my highest gear (to sprint)..

Don't panic, keep your balance.. that is the most important part..

And i'm using stock el-cheapo factory disc brakes.. They still do brakes though.. Heheh..

This is the APV - Ashima Power Valve.. Two-stage braking. But it's pending revision as the EN Standards does not allow two-stage braking..

My Montague specs:

Swissbike X70 frame by Montague
Truvativ Stylo T20 handle Stem Seatpost
Shimano M395 Hydraulic Disc Brake
Shimano M430 Alivio Groupset
Suntour Epicon fork with remote lock/release
Mavic Crossride Disc(downhill version) with Kenda K1010 folding type tyres
Rubar Saddle
Wellgo Pedal

I bought the frame from a very nice gentleman in bycyclebuysell forum. Here is his post for the Montague frame he is selling. SkabtSkabt

His montague frame is confirm original. He is also selling Montague Boston frame which don't have fake in the market yet. Absolutely no reason to believe its fake. The price is as stated on his post but due to currency RM dropping like bird shit, it might increase in future.

I got all the parts from him from China except the crossride disc wheel I bought from byciclebuysell too.

Total I spend on my bike is about RM3500. Clould have been less but the shop charges RM80 for assemble fee plus smoe Rm210 for some small parts and that I miss out.

If I buy the parts in M'sia probably would cost me more than RM5000

Hey i'm owning the China Hummer.. Envy of your Montague for sure.. Will definitely upgrade to this sometime in the future! The frame he is selling is super cheap i must say! thumbup.gif

[1] Bell Dawn Patrol LED Headlight
[2] Ilumenox SS-L322R CROCOLITE (Red Light)
[3] 2012 Waterproof Cycling Bike Bicycle Tail Light Laser Beam Rear Lamp 3 High Light LED Saving Power

These are not the best combination, since i just bought for the sake of it is a must item onto your bike if you want to ride at night.. Please, don't ride without them (blinkers)..

just came across this webpage..
is this bike valuable n its performance?
Its worth it to buy?

I own it.

So far it is a folding bike that not looks like a folding bike. Folds (save space) but not that transportable if you want to bring them into lrt during rush hours. Not that light and not that heavy (since it is aluminium). You don't have to buy extra carrier if you plan on bringing the bike onto your car. You can place them inside the car.

Everything else is just like Mountain Bikes, in terms of ride and feel. Since it is a full sized bike, upgrade options are plentiful. As per current setup, i didn't upgrade much of the gearing, just adding some 'must have' stuff like blinkers. Note that the default location of the water bottle is just behind your front wheel, I bought an adapter to place it on the handlebar - behind wheel waterbottle will add some other flavor eg dust, sand or mud. biggrin.gif

What else can i say? Front fork suspension's play is about 10cm or so, will add some comfort to your ride. It is adjustable to lock/unlock.

Note that this is not the real Montague Paratrooper. The real Montague will cost you maybe 2k up to 3k?

Apart from the chain-fall-off issues (which is common to all bikes - fixed by re-tuned) i didn't have any issues on the bike. whistling.gif

What pump?

Your tires are designed to keep air pressure in. What happened when the pressure go down? Just pump in! But then, which pump? RM30, RM50 or RM10?

So i went to search for one. Read it here that it is not advisable to pump at the petrol station right? (my house is just next to Petronas)

So then i bought one. RM25. Its a handy pump. Made in China. And when i reached home, it just can't pump! Up till the pump is hot, the air is just refused to pump in.. Haih.. I think I rugi RM25 already.. The other day i went into another bicycle shop and bought a bigger (but still small) pump made in China (again) but this time is costs me just RM10. The OK ones are more expensive, starts from RM30+, but i guess i wanna try luck with the cheap one first. If this one still failed me, I'll buy the more expensive pump.. And when i reached home, its history. It just works! My RM10 pump works! Took me not more than 5 minutes to pump both tyres! flex.gif

So moral of the story is that, no matter how much is the cost of one item, its the end result that counts..

Now i can start to cycle again, no excuse for low air pressure.. but it is a rainy season now, hope there is no rain tonight!

My 26" x 1.75 ideally may need 60PSI (rear) and 45PSI (front) but i just pump in by agak2.. hahaha (i dont have air pressure gauge) tongue.gif

I bought this pump from taobao for about RM25.  Works awesome and easy to pump.  Can pump both types of connection.

I bump into this pump during my 1st visit to hunt for pump, but since it is too small i doubt the pump.. if only i knew it will pump, i definitely buy this.. and the guy quoted me RM30 for this pump..
