QUOTE(myak9 @ Dec 3 2013, 06:37 PM) for me I will buy dahon/tern Dahon have life time warranty? apply to all the part ? where to claim warranty?as most of the china brand has reach 1k.. dahon c7 is like 950 - 1100.. xds Afb 290 is like 1100.. dahon have lifetime warranty if you register your bike online.. xds...eeerrr...local bike shop warranty... about compactness.. I can fit 2 16" dahon curve at the back of my myvi.. but only 1 20" dahon mu uno... Do tern have life time warranty as well? At least recommend me a model from tern or dahon. Really confuse with all the model. |

QUOTE(etigge @ Dec 26 2013, 05:59 PM) Dahon Thanks for your info.Visc P18 - RM2399 For a Dahon, it's a bargain for an 18 speed unit. This model and color, either you like it or you don't. I usually see ladies riding it, hehehe biggrin.gif Dash P18 - RM2499 This is a fast bike as it is a mini velo. Drawback is the blardy rims which is 21 point something inch which makes tire choice very limited. So far only CST and Kenda slicks. Can't find treaded tires! Also weird orange rims rclxub.gif Mu P27 - RM2599 This has a good frame but has rear internal gear which makes it hard to change tubes when punctured! 27 speed although unlike conventional gearing like the Visc P18. When Dahon wants to shod more gears they usually use internal 3 speed hub gears in addition to the conventional 8 speed or 9 speed RD. That's because those days, the Neos don't have the longer caged RDs. If you look carefully the Visc and Dash Neos RD have longer cage to accomodate the chain slack when gear is set to the small crank. Their rational for smaller RD is compactness and also non obtrusive when folded. That's why they place the RD on the chain stay. I have tried the shorter Neos but the cage can't accomodate the chain and since we can't really buy the longer version, might as well change to a better quality RD with the use of an adapter. Then we can use all the Shimano's and SRAM's range of RDs. NEW Vigor P9 - RM2399 This is the latest Dahon 2014 series and within the same price range, the drawback is the 9 speed but off course if you need more gears, you can add dual cranks later or like myself mod it to P20 using the original SRAM X5 components like the Dahon Vector P20. It will cost more dough though! Another extra RM600 to RM700. It does come with better and lighter rims than the rest though. Although priced lower and named differently than the Vector (which is the highest range from Dahon), they are the same frame If you are a serious cyclist, it's worth it. Tern Link P9 - RM2800 This is a popular model but slightly higher priced for the same specs. Lots of complaints though but very minor issues like creaking handle post, chain jumps and sliding seat post. These are the 3 main complaints. PS/ Something to add, if you so chooses the Tern, I suggest you go for the available Tern Link P24 which is heavily discounted. I don't know if it is still available but I saw the unit selling for RM2500 in Rodalink Botanic Gdn, Klang. 24 speed worr (also 3 speed internal hub gear like the Daho MUp27) and also Tern worr, the supposedly better bike and hence priced higher but till today only 2 basic models! rclxub.gif THe P24 is the first batch and has better WTB rims than the later Tern rims which are inferior. |
