You can horn to alert your friends during the ride to indicate you need help. Statistic has shown that about 70% cyclists being hit from sides. Many times, I horned at the vehicles coming from left side as the vehicles parked at road side blocking the view of the drivers when rolled down the road.

pretty solid, full brightness can go up to 2 hrs before it dims a little bit n finally goes off around the 3 hr mark

for the 50% brightness mode, it stays that way constantly for about 7 hrs half before the red warning sign appears n this goes on for about 45 mins before going off completely

not too sure how bright or wide it can shine cuz i only have this so far

btw guys make sure ur headlight dsnt blind other road users

do a field test, get down from ur bike n put urself in front of it n the light, if it's blinding u then it's blinding other users n that is very dangerous for everyone

don't skimp on lights indeed if u ride at night, those can save our ass n lives
perhaps we shld really highlight this to Tern, those dealers r clearly very irresponsible n have lousy service

It's kinda hard to get triple cranks nowadays as most have moved to double cranks. If you can find one, the rest cost about RM75 for the Shimano 2300 FD, another RM100 for the FD adapter, Jagwire cable and housing another RM30 and finally the shifters cost RM100 for 3 X 8 speed and RM130 for 3 X 9 speed. If you can't find triples, the cost is still the same!

That means changing into 20 speed. One word of caution though, nice as it seems, 10 speed is harder to tune and the adjustments are quite minute. The 8 speed to 10 speed cogs are actually the same width, so it means the 10 speed cogs are thinner and the spacing narrower. The chain is narrower and this means the adjustment margins are also narrower. Even if it is tuned to perfection and another heavier rider rides your bike, the adjustments will mis-align slightly but not so much that it won't shift. Just that it's not that fluid. That's because the frame will flex under different loads.

I find 9 speed more robust and smoother and off course the 8 speed is even more easier to maintain. But it totally your choice. You can change to Shimano 105 cranks and chainrings with hollowtech technology with 105 FD and RD and also the cassette. If you are using 105 RDs, then a road bike cassette is preferred. They range from 11-27 , 12-28, 11-25, it's your choice. Nearer ratios makes shifting gears more fluid instead of getting too much freeplay after shifting to lower gears. Drawback is the low gears are limited and you need to mash the pedals for steep uphills but for a 20 incher, it's actually acceptable.

Me, an old man on the other hand, likes the lightest possible gear inches as possible. So, I put in mountain bike cassettes and RDs. The RD is long cage to accomodate the chain slack. I get 11-34 at the rear which makes my low end very low combined with 20 inch wheels. I think both choices cost about the same. For MTB components, 10 speed starts with Deore. The shifters, RD, FD, cables, adapters, FSA cranks (53/39), BB should come to about 1K give and take a hundred. Off course there's higher end option like SLX or XT for MTBs or Tiagra, Sora (9 speed) , or even Ultegras for road bike version.

What bike are you riding? I have already done 7. Two on Speed P8 and another on a Dr.Hon Boardwalk, 2 on Tern P9s, also 2 on my old Dahon Eco C7. I also did a 24 speed on a folding bike frame from China. When I started with Eco C7 and I* did not have tools yet, I just wanted to mod it 8 speed and brought the freewheel 8 cogs and shifter to a bike shop. The shop told me it was not possible    I did a 27 speed on it! 

I think it's not much of a problem. It may be 'terbalik' but for Neos system it the correct way. Shimano used to have an XTR RD also moves in the same way and I have used it before. It was 9 speed too. Instead of thumbing to go easier, it just release to go easier. In fact I think it's easier too. User if for a while and you will get used to it. All Shimano or SRAM RDs are compatible with your Dahon Boardwalk PROVIDED that you have the adapter!

My advice,Don't go USJ CYCLES for folding bike upgrades.All they can say is,"Folding bike can't upgrade one.If want upgrade better buy from us better."
And they thought they r the pros & gives u the lansi/corky look.
