For the shape I guess you can use pen tool to make it...
and for the grunge patterns, as the artist said, they're made with brushes... http://www.deviantart.com/view/506174/ |

for something like this, i'd find the most difficult part the curves.. to make it look 'right'..

nah... let's say you have a watercolour brush, can you draw this in one line by just simply control the pressure? I don't know if there's any pro here can do that, but I'm a tablet user too and I found it's not so easy to control... the pressure detection is only used to make it realistic, but not to draw something 'artificial' like this...

from my point of view. the curves are drawn with vector programs like Illustrator, then erased with grunge brushes in Photoshop.
QUOTE actually u gotta draw it, line by line, path by path, dats time consuming yeah, somehow the curve really headache to make things easy, its best to sketch it out with pencil and paper first. then scan it and start tracing it urself. This post has been edited by andriel: May 25 2006, 09:12 PM |

QUOTE(jayhan @ May 24 2006, 09:19 PM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « actually u gotta draw it, line by line, path by path, dats time consuming yeah, somehow the curve really headache It looks like a very blurry vector. But compared to that S-O-B pen tool, I have to say, Live Tracing works... just fine. ^^; |
