babies/hoglets wud be easy. i think ppl are afraid to own adult hedgies cause they are not domestic..they can be tame, yup. takes time tho. The prices that u have right now (i saw) wud be easy to sell if they are babies..But still, definitely cheaper than petshops.

ps: hedgies dont have scent glands...ferrets do tongue.gif

People just wanna know why you want to mate your dog. Is it from a champion line? MKA cert? How is the health and body structure? Is the quality up to the breed's standard?

Your dog won't enjoy motherhood at all.... coz it is very tiring and also it will cost you loads and loads of money. If you do not know your dog's background well, later the puppies not nice how? Maybe carry health problems how? Some of my friends their GR they get from homebreeders and in the end got some problems like hip problem or skin problem because of bad breeding....

Think before breed.... so many people breed later will just cause more people to dump their dogs.

That reason itself does not justify why you want to breed her. Imagine i impregnated you. would you be happy about it?

I guess once a while one pup from many litters will get a hip problem.... but if the owner or breeder never study the background(non MKA dogs) then I think there is a high possibility that a percentage of the pups will have a health problem. This is what I see in some small animals that I breed loh... Still the best is to get from a hobbyist or pressional breeder that has spend most of their time studying the breed before breeding loh.

These days I hear people say "I want my dog be a mother or I want my children to see newborn puppies or I want a puppy that looks like my dog or I want to get a small profit and loads more.... hehehe... these all not I simply say lah, it is in most dog books that advises on breeding dogs.

arr.....actually lineage is not so important lar
all of this just depends on 'luck'
so you have to prepare to take the responsibility to the pups if want to breed thats all
just dont simply throw the dog on roadside (dont save your money for the medicine to put to sleep! at least dont let them suffer outside)
=D

once a while i will think of my fala ..many what ifs and most of them health-related ones . I think it's good if the breeder you get your puppy from show not just the sire and dam's cert but also the health report .

If lineage are the american show line should be ok I think... coz they do health scans first before breeding.... only thing here is no one do it loh. So I guess we buy our locally bred dogs is based on luck.....

Wish people got think like you, take responsibility.... imagine when I have to help my friends rehome silky terriers, mini pinchers, GRs, GSDs and many shih tzus coz of irresponsible breeders dump them....

So if the pup is not nice, just because of that you're advocating to putting it to sleep? doh.gif

brother....not not nice lar
i mean got serious case and cant be cure
in my hand
put to sleep 6 dogs (customer 1)

1. Rottie - around 5yo, back part suddenly very skinny and got strong smell (disease smell), keep dyria, no appetite , looks it suffering so plan to put to sleep

2. staffy - skin problem, completely cured after ivermectin injection, after 1 week even serious, try alot medicine for almost 7 month still same, in the last month it become very serious it scratch until whole body blood, everynite cant sleep, put to sleep

3. bassethound - hyper aggressive, atk owner (weird huh hound group also so aggressive)

4. chowchow - got male and female chow2 at home, female chow2 on heat, male 1 keep pissing everywhere (normally he dont do that) the owner's wife just lightly slap the dog and ask him cannot do so, then the lady kena attacked, after a week the dog attack her 4yo son, owner cannot stand, put to sleep (the lady owner very sayang dog 1, just slap very light (you can imagine))

but normally most case are too aggressive (crazy type) or seriously skin problem
can see their emotion are very sad when i go fetch their dog to vet, for me, i also very pity the dog too, but have to be killer cry.gif

Yah loh, I mean, a vet would advice a customer to not breed with no purpose... I think all dogs are nice but if everyone say their dogs are nice... then I think there will be more dogs on the street liao.

Sigh, that is kinda true.... I also had a dopg put down coz she became aggressive, even my dad kena bitten and that dog looks up to my dad. I suffered 2 attacks from her while my mom got attacked once and the dog also killed 2 of my other pets. For the safety of the family, put down.... cry.gif

SPCA won't catch.... they got limited staff... normally it is the local authorities that hire people to catch dogs. Seen it before, damn scary to see them catch dogs....

What to do? The government or authorities in charge got hire people to catch. I read before.... was about shah alam wan.... but I can't remember how much was the pay, like catch one dog they get RM30 or something.... so the more they catch, the more money get.
