MAIN FEATURES
・3-ON-3 TEAM BATTLE:
Choose a default team of 3 characters or make your own team by picking up 3 characters of your choice, and fight against teams until victory! Develop your own team strategy by choosing the best characters for you!

・STORY：
In this mode, you will experience a variety of background stories not touched upon in the game’s original Arcade Version. Discover the truth about KOF’s “Ash Saga” and its secrets through the eyes of the main character, Ash Crimson, and other characters who were not directly participating in the tournament. Your decisions and battle results may lead you to discovering new story elements; try out all the different options and every scene!

・NETWORK:
"THE KING OF FIGHTERS XIII Steam Edition" now features vastly improved netcode that will provide you with the most comfortable online experience yet! The new netcode features improved communication speeds between you and your opponent, and also tailors your online experience according to your PC environment!

“THE KING OF FIGHTERS XIII Steam Edition” features three different types of ONLINE VERSUS Matches, allowing players to challenge other rivals worldwide in endless and intense battles:
‐  “Ranked Match”: fight under specified regulations, and your results will be reflected in the rankings.
- “Player Match”: playing in this mode will not affect your results. You can fight against others casually.
- “Friend Match”: invite online players and challenge them through this mode for heated competition!

・MISSION:
Tackle three different kinds of missions in this mode, and improve your skills!
- “TIME ATTACK”: Defeat all CPU opponents in the shortest time you can.
- “SURVIVAL”: Select a character and fight your way through as many CPU opponents as you can.
- “TRIAL”: In this mode, each character has 10 tasks, which mainly focus on combos. By the time you complete all 10 tasks, you will have mastered some combos for that character.

・TUTORIAL:
Rose Bernstein, hostess of the tournament, will teach you the basic techniques as well as explain the gauges and their uses. First time KOF players should start here to get used to the game.

・CUSTOMIZE:
This mode allows you to edit your online profile and change character color palette. You can create a team to use online, add icons collected while playing, or enter a preset message that you want to use in your profile. For each character, you can make up to five custom color patterns. Show off your personality on the worldwide stage!

・OPTION:
A “GRAPHICS OPTION” feature, allowing the players to switch between different frame rates and simplify backgrounds, has been newly added.

of all, i still prefer 97,98,99 or abit 2000. not really fond of its new mechanism. 97 the best 

I think I want to get it since playing solo on PS3 is quite boring sometimes. Online should be a challenge.

Good thing I made a custom counter top joystick, could intergrade it with PC controller.

We are incredibly happy at the reception and excitement at which KOFXIII S.E. has been received! Thank you for all of your comments, across these forums and across the web!

Firstly, allow us to explain a few things:

- KOFXIII S.E will be a fusion of KOFXIII CLIMAX and the Xbox360 version of KOFXIII. The gameplay of KOFXIII S.E. is based on KOFXIII CLIMAX. The UI, menus, and configs are based on the Xbox 360 version of KOFXIII
- Since there may be lower performing PCs out there, we have introduced a "Static" and "Dynamic" background system available in the Graphics Options menu. If you are receiving low FPS, consider trying out the "Static" background mode.
- There are also 2 Frame Rate modes available: "Fixed" and "Variable". In the interests of better online experiences, Online play will be fixed to the "Fixed" Frame Rate mode.
- The closed beta will only feature Online play. We understand the importance of excellent netcode and so we wish to utilize this beta test as a means of collecting feedback on our new netcode. We will then use this feedback to further improve the netcode where possible.

We have worked really hard on the netcode. We have run tests between the USA, UK and Japan, all with excellent results. But we know that through your testing and feedback, we may be able squeeze out some extra performance.

We look forward to working with you all in order to make KOFXIII S.E. an excellent gaming experience. September 13th will be an excellent day for us all!

if you're into key trading, steamtrades got people selling it for 8 TF2/DOTA2 keys.

No I idea, I don't see a lot of excitement over this game compared to SF series. I started out myself with kof 96. Honest opinion, this game's smoother than sf in execution and netcode wise at this point.

Heavily considering this game. Might play this while waiting for Ultra... Hmm...

Ultra lama lagi. get this to support more fighting games to PC. n KOF is not bad as well

hmm, getting into a MP - ranked game not as simple as i thought. try for search 5 min but none, then y connected, it juz keep loading blank n can't cancel. only can alt + f4.
somehow playing with KB is so different compare to KOF'97 to KOF'02 in NeoGeo/Win Kawaks. key registered not as good/accurate?   well thats juz my initial. will try more 2moro.

Couldn't get any matches last night.
Was using my hrap stick, works fine. Why would you need p2?

p1 kb, p2 joypad. the default settings p2 take over alot of my p1 key on kb. but i manage to re-bind it.
now feels like MKB is not suitable for this kind of game lulz.

sometimes its smooth like hell but suddenly can drop down to hell. face this with lucifer b4. but on my few games against other ppl is good n no lag/delay at all.
hence, we are not sue lulz. wait till OR and test more to know how good the network is.

My Vinyson controller a bit "cacat" when playing this game. Some buttons can press some can't.

Any ideas? Just played training and tutorial mode.

Problems with me playing this game. The keyboard and controller don't react to what I clicked.

Coming from SF, you'll have to adjust a lot. Especially for keyboard. For SF, a qcf can be done using shortcut motion 26 but in KoF you need the full 236 otherwise nothing it doesn't happen. Basically no shortcut motions which makes playing with directional buttons quite tough as there is a tendency to skip corner (1379) inputs on keyboard.
