Lol dilemma now. Should or shouldn't get the us version? I don't mind about the LTE band really. But will the Malaysian set be priced close to the price of us set? Say if the 16 model will cost Rm 1100 in US, how much will it be in Malaysia? RM 1600?

QUOTE(azrash @ Nov 1 2013, 10:03 PM) VPN on the phone is very spotty. Try on your desktop. And us + Japanese version is slightly different than the other version. Might be better for you to get it from Australia or UK if you are planning to use it in Malaysia. The LTE bands are different well yeah I'm aware of that. using Umoble now so LTE doesn't really matter. Plus getting it from other country will be pricey. |

QUOTE(infernoaswen @ Nov 2 2013, 04:55 PM) Because my galaxy w battery that came from samsung was crap. Used about 8 months and battery started expanding in size & battery life went down to the drain. So bought a sun global battery around 40bucks iinm. Problem with non-removable battery (daily) is if there is battery problem I need to send back to LG to get it replaced & they probably gonna charge me expensive right? If there is problem with the battery and your phone is still under warranty, just send it back and they will replace it for freeBack in few years I remember paying around 80-100 ringgit on a original battery from nokia, so would prefer diy to reduce the cost |

QUOTE(infernoaswen @ Nov 2 2013, 05:13 PM) I hope so, because galaxy w wasnt that old. Using lithium battery & i mean I know battery wear & tear will happen depending on usage so cant expect much. Just hope its easily replaceable by me Those with 3-6 months warranty should be AP set. Original set is 1 year for everything.I dont think so leh, not sure about nexus lines but generally most phone comes with 3-6 months warranty for battery only. It will be stated in the fine print white paper that usually comes with the box. Not sure about these non replaceable batteries la since I never bought before but I guess should be same. |

Everything comes with its price. Pros of buying US set : Slightly cheaper (and yes it is always be cheaper), get to use Nexus 5 ahead of everyone else (Maybe 3 months advantage). Cons : No LTE (which is nothing big if you are not considering LTE), US prong (meh) and no warranty (do correct me if I'm wrong). Pros and Cons of International set just take everything above and make it opposite.

QUOTE(IntensiveBytes @ Nov 2 2013, 10:14 PM) So what are your predictions for the price of a local set? 16GB and 32GB. My guess would be Rm 1799 for 16GB, Rm 1999 for 32GB. It's not gonna come cheap you know. IINM the launching price for Nexus 4 is $299. Come to Malaysia became Rm 1649. So expect to pay higher than you will for Nexus 4.Hopefully 32GB would be RM1300 or less :/ |

Oh and btw maybe there won't be the 32GB variant. Nexus 4 was sold locally in 16GB model only

Actually I was gonna buy the Nexus 5 from Google PlayStore since I have some stuff from Amazon to bring back via Hopshopgo. But the waiting time is 2-3 weeks and I had to cancel the plan because a charge will be incurred upon me if my stuff is stored in their garage for more than 30 days. Any good stuff to bring back from US?

QUOTE(psyduck89 @ Nov 2 2013, 11:31 PM) Around 1600-1700QUOTE(pu27 @ Nov 2 2013, 11:37 PM) Oh too bad then. However, I think it will not be more than 30 days from now since it's still listed as 2-3 weeks, perhaps it will reach HSG just in time? Yea it will definitely be on time but I just don't want to wait for the Nexus 5 haha. Later come back kena tax some more. |

Screen protector isn't really a need unless you have the habit of putting your stuff with your phone. For me I have one pocket reserved for my phone, another one for everything else. Not using any screen protector atm

My brother will be coming back from South Korea around December. Nexus 5 is 459,000 won (Rm 1400) there. If he was to bring it back, will anyone be interested?
