all items sold locally in Australia should come with GST incl. with proper tax invoice

some tips on claiming GST at TRS counter in airport,

- purchase must be a minimal amount of 300AUD, on a single receipt or several purchases but only at the same store or same store at different branches.

- a proper Tax Invoice must be shown to TRS officer for a successful claim, it must have
the word Tax Invoice written on it, company name and ABN number, total price and GST amount charged (or total price with GST incl. stated)

Google Store did have some issues handling out Tax Invoices for the N4, this has been resolved very recently,

http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-repli...m?t=2050306&p=7

the GST claimable for N5 16GB with shipping is

$399+$19 = $418

subtract 10% = GST is $38, approx RM 110

price of N5 after GST deduction = $380 AUD, approx RM 1,140

FYI, Nexus 4 and 5 AU are shipped from Singapore

a quick look at SG prices for those who want nearer access

http://www.pricepanda.com.sg/lg-nexus-5-pid1518901/

that's around RM 1,350.

paying RM 1,999 to any of the lowyat sellers here is the most nonsensical thing you can ever do in your life, but then again maybe that's how malaysia has been for the years I was away, my own country folk will always prey on the weak minded, the ignorant and the egotistical.

for every RM 1,999 N5 successfully sold, I say,

"A fool and his money has parted"

errmmm this is US set I believe? http://www.theopensurface.com/browse-all-p...aign=pricepanda

i did a quick google search and gotten that as a guide,

theopensurface seems to look like a valid online store in SG, it has a facebook page with healthy likes and contact no.

https://www.facebook.com/theopensurface

address here

http://www.theopensurface.com/location

it seems they are grey importing the US version of N5, I have not done a research on differences between US and AU specs
*
specs are the same. LTE not usable here if using US set. I use LTE everyday and night so it matters to me~

EDIT : ok noted just read Bugeca's post.

Yeah agreed, if you guys want to pay RM1999 then why dont just pay a little extra and get those flagship phone instead? Like htc one etc, I mean the major selling point of nexus is that its cheap right?
*
I'd pay a fortune for a Nexus though. Its a Nexus, different to other flagships~ Nexus used to be expensive btw. 2.1k for Nexus One, Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus. I bought them in the early availability in Malaysia.

Major selling point actually is Google. The price are only cheap now because Google wants people to use their products. But Play Store is not here yet, so they have no control of the prices.

I could have been using the RM1999 Nexus 5 right now since I couldnt wait and not going through the troubles buying by myself, but I have a Playstation 4 to catch up next month and also, I need 32GB since I am spoiled to my HTC One's 64GB.

Nobody comparing this phone with HTC One? I'm looking for a reason to replace my HTC One. Seems to me like processing power is the winning point for Nexus 5.
*
cannot compare la bro. the proc and performance are negligible nowadays for flagship phones. I use HTC One too, and i'm keeping it. its different in many ways. Once you go dual frontal speaker, you have a hard time loving other speakers.

No need for extra charge to use LTE. If you are using the old sim card, just go to the center and ask them for the 4G Micro Sim, and you're good to go.

Personally I use LTE everyday. and its hard going back to 3G/H+ and its quite stable too. I work in Masjid Jamek, and lives in Jelatek. Weird thing is, KLCC doesnt get LTE. hahaha. I'm using Maxis, which ironically maxis HQ is there. Gagagagaga...

I'd say if you live in KL, LTE is gonna be worth it. The coverage and speed keeps on increasing everyday. Its been like 4 months since I use LTE here. It keeps getting better and could be available in new area in a few months.
