I either using laptop or my Samsung Note II to connect to my TV using HDMI... Quality? Android wise, better in terms of picture quality. Windows wise, used to be very stable (these days not so) initially compares to Android... Overall quality is "watchable" only sweat.gif Don't expect to see HD even for those HD channel... doh.gif

i hv seen astro n hypptv with decoders, aotg and hypptv everywhere on both androidbox n ipad.

astro satellite decoder - 4.5/5
hypptv iptv decoder - 4/5
atog on androidbox 3/5
hypptv everywhere on android 3/5
aotg on ipad 2.5/5
hypptv everywhere on ipad 2.5/5

the mobile ones are surely not so good. ok for small screens but u will avoid using mobile apps on tv if u can watch with decoders.

You need to know your HyppTV iptv userid and password

eg. name@iptv
pass: 123456 (usually this is default pass for most user set by TM)

then you have to call TM to map the Mac Address on STB u bought so that the can be used under your account.

Ok it seems that the stb power adapter is the culprit. Use my media player power adapter and the hypptv works flawlessly.

I hope they don't replace and run this one as an Interactive service instead.

Afaik, Nick Jr is not available in HD in Asia yet. Or else TM would have switched already (see BBC Knowledge and [V] International, TM switched both to HD as soon as HD version is available).

Oh I didnt know that! good to see TM being really efficient in terms of upgrading their channel to transmission to HD though.

hello,

I just stumbled to this thread https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3166568/all ... (unfortunately the thread closed)....so cant ask there, my best bet where here since the op create this thread exclusively for hyyptv user (streamyx and unifi)...

I saw some hyyptv user with streamyx STB install the unifi STB firmware over their STB. My question is Any Beneficial by doing this..?.

TIA

How you see the benefits would be is up to you.The firmware update is from TM itself, even without the 3008 pin the system will prompt for updates during the boot up if you are using the older.
The STB Huawei EC6106V5 is originally for streamyx 8mbps and 4mbps users during it's initial launching about a year ago, most unifi customers during that time are using different model and does not have wifi built in. After some time during mid of this year, TM released new firmware that support unifi as well and I can see 2 types of login in there which is usename@tvos for current streamyx and username@iptv for unifi users.

The problem is that TM is reluctant to increase ADSL2+ speed on the Screamyx line for fear of 1. Cannibalising the Unifi sales and 2. Broken promises (ADSL2+ can only reach 24mbps at best effort and will definitely fail unless TM has an exchange on every street corner). 4mbps is definitely not enough for HD, and 8mbps will slow to a crawl when HD content is being delivered. The only way TM can deliver HD content to Screamyx customers is to overhaul their entire copper infrastructure. Which takes us back to 1: cannibalising the Unifi sales.

the supposedly hd channels are... hd and not! biggrin.gif some look better than others. warner, iconcerts, syfy, luxtv, fashion are among the best but appear 480p or 720i to my eyes, alto they should be 720p or 1080i as claimed. anyway, 720 is classified as hd, so...

i do not know if unifi give better or worse video than streamyx for the same channels. but note than only some channels are "hd" the rest are sd or worse, imo. some are hardly watchable!

they will resist this due to cost and control but the day will come when the stb is just another android where u can put yr own apps. but what i think is chances are by the time that happens, the stb will probably not have enough memory to cater to more than just a few simple apps. becos i find even now, there r some good new apps but are relatively big size. plus, they require >1gb flash to buffer the bettter videos when the older ones require just 100-200mb. for this reason, u might be better off just buying yr own android if that's yr cup of tea. lastest ones with 8 or 16gb memory cost rm400-500.

...

a couple things to share:

.. hypptv everywhere app on tablets has improved - a side bar to switch channels
.. all subscribed channels now on it, except scm, scm legend and screen red. talking of scm, yesterday, i caught a good movie on scm 228 - heroes amidst turmoil. i was pleasantly surprised as this is a new show, 2013. kungfu film from hk, canto. if u like the genre, catch it sometime. not found anywhere yet!

They already made it clear that Streamyx users will be getting HD channels downgraded to ED (widescreen SD) instead. Mainly because they don't want to upgrade their copper line architecture to support better DSL speeds for whatever reason, but going HD on a 8Mbps line will kill the line due to their HD compression profile (they allocated 20mbps for HD on UniFi). Our ADSL is still stuck at version 1 with best effort speed of 12Mbps. Other countries already roll out ADSL2+ (best effort speed of 24mbps) as a stopgap- meaning they can give the Hypp box the required 20mbps and still have 4mbps for internet. But no, they decide to let their ADSL architecture stagnate in favor of FTTH and FTTP.

That said, they're also wrong to roll out UniFi so slowly. Thailand uses an identical architecture to UniFi (I've seen their GPONT while on holiday in Songkla, it's exactly the same as UniFi's) and whole country already covered within months of the kings decree. TM coverage in East Coast is still spotty as heck and we can forget about East Malaysia where currently only the oil production provinces are covered...
