HyppTV for streamyx users, for your infos, got this from HyppTV page in facebook:-

Dear Eric, we appreciate your concern about HD CH. on Streamyx Platform. However, FYI HD CH. is not available on Streamyx. We do understand the confusion to customer base on the branding for HD Ch. because we are recieving it from content provider with no alteration. Technically if HD CH. be made available to the customer it will have direct effect on your bandwidth counsumption, hence you will be experiencing poor internet browsing as a result of shared & higher bandwidth consumption. We will update all of our customer if there is any upgrade towards HD Ch. in future with Streamyx. Thanks.

Hmmm... So streamyx users will not have shared bandwidth like Unifi. Makes sense, given that it's not possible to implement VLAN over DSL- Never heard of people stacking VLAN on top of DSL before. Still, better than needing to wait two years for the goddamn service to reach your area... If I had the option, I'd have gotten HyppTV over Streamyx first while waiting for UniFi.

Hi there, im interested to get this 8mpbs streamyx with hypptv, since my area is not covered by unifi. Anybody here can attest to tv watching experience and internet surfing? would one lag if the other is used? I understand everything for streamyx would be on best effort basis from tmnet, so i just need some general experience from 8mbps+hypptv users smile.gif

Thanks ya!

hi evanrue,

8mbps users will be bundled with hypptv STB + 17 free channels. Premium packs just another option which you can read from hypptv website for more infos. Unlike unifi which has it's own dedicated bandwith for hypptv, as I been told by the guy from hypptv the 8mbps users won't enjoy HD programs as it shared the bandwith allocated for the internet, But for current non HD I am still able to watch TV and use internet or playing youtube without any lag. But still, I am happy hypptv user biggrin.gif

exactly the same here, kinda disappointed with it as well. But not to put the blame on TM alone as Astro is the one who is pulling the strings, they purposely broadcasts the selected big matches outside the ASSP1 and ASSP2 sad.gif

However I am happy with Platinum Pack nod.gif

I terminated Astro and signed to VIP 5 in June. It's been 2 months and I am satisfied. If I knew I could watch YouTube I'd have switched earlier.

That's where YouTube comes in for me. Watching on tv better than on laptop.
