as far as I know, there was a forumer successfully managed installed few .apk into it, particularly youtube and some games. The STB needs to be open inside and did some hacking, BUT he took the risk as the STB not able to boot properly and almost return it to TM for warranty.

Called 100, the guy said that because my HP Slate 21 is Android 4.2, that's why I could not watch the Live TV.
I also tried on my ASUS Prime that have 4.1.1, then I could watch it.
Oh so that's why my htc butterfly cannot watch hypptv everywhere after I upgrade the firware to 4.2.2.... so are they fixing it?

I see. I saw from the apps list from menu settings; there's 'PackageInstaller.apk' but file size 0.0MB. I guess they don't want us to install our own apk. lol

Hi
I am a new subscriber to Unifi. Only 1 week since installed.
I have a question regarding HyppTV. Currently I am receiving all Channels free for 30 days.
Can I view even the VOD free for 30 days?
I am scared to open any movie as I am worried I will be charged

Kindly someone confirm this.
Thanks

For 30 days trial period, we can view any of it for free. Any premium chargeable titles, the system will ask us to insert the purchasing pin first before we can proceed to view it.

Sports channel does have Live EPL and NBA, but do remember that these are coming from Astro's ASSP1 and ASSP2 and we hypptv users can't watch any matches broadcast outside these 2.

Noted , the TM CS told me I need to let go 1mb of bandwidth for the hpyyTV so if I have 4MB I left with 3MB, if the HpyyTV not in use would it be back to 4MB? Should be , right ?
I'm still considering as RM30 is ok unlike astro need to pay around RM 90-100 which most channel I doubt we would watch in the package .

Unlike unifi, hypptv for streamyx is a internet sharing and best effort basis. Due to that limitation we can't enjoy the real HD experience, SD is the best we can watch but I don't mind as I am using the old CRT TV right now.

RM30 for Sports to my opinion is considered ok if you ask me. Currently I am subscribed to Mega and Sports.

Appreciate the info man, now LED HDTV is very cheap, can consider a change?
I'll read more on the terms and condition before I plunge into it but RM30 for a sports pack and other free channels, well can't complain much .

Well if your saying the SD broadcast on your 40' HDTV , I would assume is just the quality which is not beyond 720p for sure . Acceptable but once u get used to HD, you do not want SD anymore .

Some of the hyppsters for streamyx here claimed that they are having HD, some are not. HyppTV guy confirmed that by default streamyx users won't get HD due to it's internet sharing basis. I don't know which is correct actually.

The system says that I will be charged RM10 and asks me to enter pin

It is not free if the system says that. The last time when I was under the trial, I never bother to check what VODs are in, just discovered it is only viewable for 'free' after I am subscribed to premium pack. In you case, maybe you are right as the free trial applies to channels and not the VODs.

i already have hypptv , im okay with local tv stations for newsfeed. i intend to move the hypptv downstairs and i been wondering if i should get njoi for RM 280 or just get a homeplug poweline adapter kit which should cost somewhere around RM 200 ++.

is njoi a better option or just stick to hypptv.
*
Hmmm if you are happy with njoi channels I'll go for njoi. Later if its raining you can always carry the tv up, or later have 2 tvs, 1 upstairs with hypptv, 1 downstairs with njoi.
