Hey, share la which model... So quick to throw your once beloved 1080p TV under the bus.. tongue.gif  It's all about the upscaling engine. Congrats thumbup.gif

u gotta get one of these 4k uhd tvs! thumbup.gif

after a week or so, i say it is well worth it - for those who primarily play HD content.

becos the clarity, details and colors are so much better with HD material, i wish i had bought a 58" instead.

but never mind... in 2 yrs time, i will move the 50" to another room, get new 65". tongue.gif

biggrin.gif rclxms.gif Those thoughts after such purchases, to have bought a bigger screen tends to linger after one gets used to a bigger screen. We easily forget that, we used to watch a smaller screen for years. tongue.gif Ahh, I remember battling with the decision early last year whether to get a 4K UHD TV then or not but since the particular model I had my eyes on was outside the allowed budget + I figured the up-scaling engine and PQ should only get better with time (cheaper too), decided against it and got a lovely 55" 1080p set. For the current living room, 55" is the sweet spot between small and just overpowering the room with a bigger screen. Though now like you, the sweet spot should be 65"... biggrin.gif . IMO, anything bigger than that means its no longer a living room and I might as well go all the way & carve out a media room. At least you are happy with the PQ, that's most important for a new TV owner.

true... "size does matter"! biggrin.gif

the sweet spot changes with higher resolution. it was 29" CRT, then 32" LCD, 42" FUllHD.

it has to be 55-65 4K UHD now. laugh.gif

really, hypptv 1080i hd channels come out marvellous on a 4k uhd TV. The food now looks more delicious, the landscapes more refreshing and the sharks more real. laugh.gif

not sure if its my STB issue or AV configuration ..

watching HD channels on hyppTV for the initial 30 secs or so would give me 1080i/60 image, however after that it falls back to 480i which made everything blurry and such sad.gif i'm currently using the 2nd version decoder ("v5")

check the stb settings available with yr remote.

if set correctly and still like that, call hypptv - maybe the stb is faulty.

** assuming yr TV is 1080/60 capable.

hypptv stb only works via ethernet, i.e. cable and at one specific port at the router.

it does not work with wifi.

i think this is becos hypptv is a dedicated bandwidth, HD and controlled.

same like astro, no wireless way.

most people will use hypptv via cable while other devices can use wifi.

so, the other way is to move yr modem and router, which means re-cabling as well...

1. It no longer works on Chrome. Try using Firefox or IE.
