wah diploma without experience? you are so lucky dude..

i also a diploma student join a company without experience, they offer me RM1200. after 3month and now my salary is RM1500. Still ok la since i feel everyone in my office here and my head is ok, 4.30pm can go home liao hehe..

if you degree without experience, 1500+100 is consider ok, better than jobless.

RM1600 is about the standard wage that some office i know would offer a fresh grad civil engineer. it used to be less than 1500 about 5 years ago, especially when we're just starting to climb back slowly from the last recession.

i'd say, with zero exp, just take what u've got. dont sign a contract for more than a year (if any). after a year, get out, look for a new firm. make sure it's either exactly a year, or slightly more. never less.

when applying to this new firm, u'll be applying as a not-so-fresh civil engineer with 1 year exp. that'll get u extra 150 or so. job hop until u're ready to settle down. biggrin.gif. just make sure each job lasts a year.

just grab it for the sake of experience...
as i remember when i 1st graduated, i grab an offer without thinking any more... coz the current economic situation is not good at that time... (and now also, as i felt we never really wake-up from the last economic crisis breakdown)
then after working for 1 year and gain enuff experience there, i got offer from many and the paid is good as I'm now experienced worker
salary up to 50% after 1 year.... sweet

that's the standard salary for fresh grad civil engineer (which is sadly the lowest among all the other engineering). i have started mine last year at rm1650. but right now after a year, i'm worth rm2500 without adding the allowance. the experience that you gained is what it counts. i can say that helped me a lot in my interview for pilot with SIA. now i'm on my way to be a pilot soon. good luck in your career.

Ir. status depends on ur experience
no fresh grad can easily obtain them as u'll need at least more than 3 yrs of working experience... lots of!

do u know that there are more graduates than job available right now?

employers have more than enough supply of workers applying for job every year. and u want them all to demand higher wage? these are fresh grads! why would the office wanna pay high salary for zero experience?

i think if u r a degree holder, you will get around rm2000 per month... excluded all the allowances... like what other LYN members said, you should get our IR first.... like IR in mechanical eng, electrical eng and bla bla... then, you will earn a lot from there... i m still thinking whether wan work as sales eng or consultant eng... sad... oh yeah, if u r willing to work hard, work as contractor, and you will earn slightly higher...

doesn't your university/college provide industrial training? how come zero experience?
industrial training is meant to help push students to a new level of experience.. so they'd be ready after grad..
