QUOTE(baka.bakashi @ Aug 13 2013, 05:41 PM) I've been waiting for xperia z to replace arc and now when z price has dropped, z ultra launched and after touching and playing with it for a couple of minutes, i'm slowly attracted to XZU pulak ... My Q are 1. Is the XZU camera is comparable to arc or better? 2. Will it better to wait for Honami and compare it with XZU before I commit myself to XZU? Any significant advantage of Honami compared to XZU beside camera? i took the plunge for XZU instead of XZ in replacement of my acro S. i won't compare XZU to honami. if you are the first step mover then i suggest you to wait for honami and get it while it's oven hot. else, get a XZU at a price lower than 2299. the camera part. XZU camera definitely loses out to many phones that come with LED flash. i have not met any issues with low light pic taking yet but overall images still acceptable.

QUOTE(baka.bakashi @ Aug 13 2013, 07:31 PM) Thanks for the respond. I'm not first step mover so getting newly launch phone is not a priority (that's why I wait for Z quite some time so that the price dropped but then XZU offers different experience with it's large screen ). it's just that from what i read honami strength is in it's camera but I don't really focusing on that as I'm already satisfied with arc's camera for a casual picture. if honami only beat xzu on camera's department, then my choice will certainly goes to XZU due to it's larger screen. unless if XZU camera lose to arc camera, then I might need to reconsider another reason for why i chose XZU. see how many rows of icons you can squeeze in one screen? compared with my older acro S to Z, i can only say the Z will get a larger sized icon. whereas in XZU the bigger screen adds more icons. (or maybe there's a way to minimize the icons in the Z this i am not sure)

weird phenomenon just now. i was at less than 40% using the phone. once entered my car i plugged in my car charger, it shot up to green indication light with 100% battery. then within a few secs it dropped to 99% again.
on the latest firmware. might worth the note if anyone encounter this. or it's just a glitch.

QUOTE(benny888 @ Aug 20 2013, 10:00 AM) Engadget 19Aug review titled : Sony Xperia Z Ultra review: the best phone you'll probably never buy WRAPUP : Just like we saw with the Samsung Galaxy Mega, your decision to purchase the Xperia Z Ultra depends mostly on its size. The Z Ultra doesn't offer any unique traits that would make people want to deal with its massive frame if they don't want to, and the price is going to scare off shoppers who are on the fence. For those dead-set on a larger smartphone, however, this is definitely the best 6-plus-inch device you can buy. Sony designed a sleek and good-looking handset with a few tablet tendencies, and you'll absolutely love the display and over-the-top processing power contained within its chassis. Without a doubt, its size and price are the two most critical factors, and you've probably already made up your mind without even using it. In short, your decision to buy (or not buy) the Z Ultra should be a quick one: you'll either love it or hate it, but you won't stay neutral for long. http://www.engadget.com/2013/08/19/sony-xp...z-ultra-review/so true. one thing that i can say is, buy and give it a go. just asking around on whether you will love it or not is not gonna make you truly experience this phone. you're looking at a 2k+ phone. buy, use, and if you don't really like it, sell it off at a 10% loss you also will feel it's worth the money cuz you used such a monster with a screen so nice and great performing phone.

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Aug 30 2013, 12:21 AM) Yes. same bugs. Wait until login. Now immediate goto display and tick back the Optimize Backlight and shutdown the phone. In your next startup the phone, the fake hang issue will not happen and you can decide want to use optimize backlight or not. But, just make sure you must tick back the Optimize Backlight before you plan to switch off the phone again. Conclusion is there is no fake hang when the Optimize Backlight is turned on before you shut down. The SOD after lock the screen won't happen if your startup never face fake hang. yes the fake hang thing is there. reticked and there it goes. if you were trying this you might be paranoid a bit while the screen goes black for a long time. just wait.
