Does it have a lot of flex when you twist it holding the two ends lengthwise? The Apple, HTC even Samsung stuff have been quite stiff, but the XZ flexes quite a bit when torsion is applied. Wanna ask how is it with the XZU

QUOTE(miloy2k @ Aug 21 2013, 07:11 AM) Thats the problem with after sales service in Malaysia. Even the big companies are horrible. I used to use Samsung mobiles, and at least their warranty claims and repairs are pretty fast. Few months ago I changed my SGS3 mainboard due to failed eMMC, and the turn around time was less than 24 hours. I sent it in during lunch hour on Monday, and got a call on Tuesday morning to pick it up. Same experience for me with Switch and Machines when my mum's iphone broke down. Took them only 3 days, and was given a replacement even. But my experience with HTC (Brightstar) was really crap. Wait for spare parts for weeks, and then no follow up calls, no contact. Have to keep chasing them. And the same too with Sony in the past. |

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Aug 21 2013, 02:00 PM) Its using the SoC hardware decoder then. The 2.2GHz cores are idling. Only the Snapdragon 800 has the Adreno 330 that supports up to 4K (2160p). The other phones on the market now with Adreno 320 supports hardware decode up to 1080p only, and thus with this video, depends on the ARM cores to do software decode. If you change MX player to SW decode mode, you'll see that playback probably won't be as smooth. edited: It plays back just as well and smooth on my SGS3 i9300, also in H/W+ mode. But on HTC One the hardware mode refuses to run and has to be played back via software. This post has been edited by adriancs: Aug 21 2013, 02:14 PM |

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Aug 21 2013, 02:42 PM) I just try use S/W mode playback that both 4K video, if H/W+ playback 30fps, S/W playback around 15fps. Your old laptop probably no GPU decoding. Not a very fair comparison...Wow! S800 is really fast and faster than my old old laptop. Yep, its hard baked into the hardware decode engine. Qualcomm is smart in segmenting the chips. Adreno 320 only goes up to 1080p, Adreno 330 goes up to 2160p. I don't think it would have cost much more to include 2160p decoding on the 320... My year old plus SGS3 can pplay the 1440p via hardware decode, but unfortunately cannot hardware decode 2160p. Which makes it better than my 2 month old HTC One, that only does up to 1080p. And does not hardware playback divx. Really thinking about getting this XZU now. |

Does it really make a difference betweek a 1080p or 4K video? Afterall the screen is only 1080p and the 4K gets downsampled anyway.

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Aug 23 2013, 10:49 AM) HTC One is Snapdragon 600 with GPU Adreno 320, possible compatible. Just no idea why it not compatible with Tablet Z which running Adreno 320 as well. Its also available for SGS3 i9300 (Exynos4 Quad) and my friend's Galaxy Mega (S400, Adreno 305)I think it not available for Z Ultra is because it is running Adreno 330. Possible not available for Samsung Galaxya S4 LTE-A and LG G2 as well. Really funny that its not available on Sony devices. |
