I am using windows XP n has never any problems using fastboot n adb commands. Intact windows XP is still the best if you want to handle adb commands manually.
I have been using windows XP fastboot/adb commands since the very first nexus till up to galaxy nexus, nexus4 n all the nexus7, htc n sony phones
Just need to install android sdk will do it
*

Yep. Me updating now.

Step to update to Taiwan 14.1.B.1.510

  • Root your phone using vroot
  • Install Root Explorer
  • Goto /system
  • Open build.prop by press and hold then select Open in Text Editor
  • Search for (at top)

    ro.product.brand=Sony
    ro.product.name=C6802_12XX-XXXX
    ro.product.device=C6802
    ro.build.tags=release-keys
    ro.build.fingerprint=Sony/C6802_12XX-XXXX/C6802:4.2.2/14.1.B.0.475/JL5_jw:user/release-keys

    #############################################################
    ro.semc.version.cust=12XX-XXXX
    ro.semc.version.cust_revision=R10A
    #############################################################
  • Change all highlight in RED to 1274-8738
  • Change R10A to R1A
  • Restart phone
  • Update via Phone Companion
All the best. I am updating now. biggrin.gif

* Could anyone tell me what is the Malaysia actual 12XX-XXXX as I forgot write down and my second change at build.prop already over right the existing backup. Appreciate much. smile.gif
*
If I do this.. Will it affect my future update? I have to Chg back to Malaysia 12XX right?

White or Black background consume same power consumption in LCD.

Only AMOLED consume a lot power in white background.

This year seems is white world, a lot change to white background. By the way I like the new layout and truly love it after I use it in my previous Z.
*
Can I Chg the background to black?

hi users, i am planning to get one, but dont plan on putting screen protector, cause i am particular and would like to see the screen colour without any distortion.

i am wondering is the screen tough, when put with keys, on tables, knocks, drops and flying phone (throw unintentionally, e.g flinging a jacket and the phone fly out), and the screen easily scratched?
*
Not easily but will get scratch

After update, it auto root disable, but still got rubbish inside. You can either uninstall those rubbish, or do again - phone repair, to let it fresh.

wad u mean by phone repair?

Check 1st page, I write review there.

You can always re-install your phone via PC companion, and it will run as factory reset after repair. All data in Internal Storage will get erase. microSD card data still remain.

Before root
Most of my battery was drained by screen
After root using vroot, most of the battery now is drained by Android System.
Anyone experience the same as me?
