As per title,

Will it be worth it to get a kindle?

Do anyone own it? And is it simple to use?

Like same as android where we just download from amazon n ready to read?

Please give some review, thank you

Yes, worth for travelling because of the weight and size compared to a normal book.

Need some steps to buy ebook from amazon. Still very easy for normal folks.

I got both the kindle keyboard and paper white. Paper white is better because of the built in light.

I can find most of the book I want from amazon store, you can search in the store to have a look first. If don't have then find in the internet lo.

Bought it direct from amazon with 3rd party forwarder, cheapest this way, waiting time is about 2 weeks.

If you don't want to go through the hassle of trying to buy ebooks from Amazon (because it's technically illegal), then I would recommend a Kobo. It's library may not be as big as Amazon's but if you're targeting bestsellers and popular books, Kobo will have it as well.

Amazon's Kindle (hardware and ebooks) are only legally sold in a few regions. That is why you don't see kindles sold in MPH. Even if you buy the Kindle online or something, you cannot simple go to Amazon.com and buy kindle books; Amazon will not allow it. There are ways around this by "tricking" Amazon into thinking you are from US. But it is actually illegal. Kindle device only allows you to purchase from Amazon.

Kobo is more open. You can buy Kobo from anywhere around the world and buy ebooks from any ebook store you choose. You can even load your own PDFs using USB, etc and read it on there.

I think is because of the copyright issue of the books. Kindle actually sold to 100 plus countries just that malaysia and singapore are not one of them. I think kobo ebooks will have the same copyright issue with the publishers as well... same as Apple ibook stall etc.

Owning the hardware and ebook should be legal thou... just like buying hardcopy books from overseas or blue ray or dvd from other region.

Of course owning the hardware is legal but it's just an expensive paperweight if it's illegal to buy with it.

Kobo does not have those copyright limitations. It is sold worldwide. Although with no official distributor in Malaysia, it may be harder to find.
