Other is the temporary file cached/stored in your phone, this is the other storage bug that people complain on windows phone 8 that file size keep expanding. Some manufacturer even come out a temporary solution by releasing own apps to try to fix it.

Amber/GDR2 update had fixed this issue, but how good the condition of fixing it is different on each phone.
WP8 is still a OS that still under developing by Microsoft, so expect some of the Android's features will not found on WP8 (notification center, for example). OS is closed OS (not much customization can be done), OS is less hardware demanding (won't lag)

Wechat, whatapps, line, most of the basic social apps is available, except instagram (only had unofficial one, recently got one is quite good), youtube (google and microsoft had bad blood, so no official one by youtube, even microsoft developed apps had been block by google, but had plenty of unofficial apps with good function). Also no google service apps (google+, google maps) on WP8.

Waze is on beta testing before acquired by google, but since google had bad blood with microsoft, don't expect google will officially release on WP8 in neartime.

apps and Games also not much compare to android (total apps+games: 170,000 only), but some developer slowly migrate to WP8 after release their apps on ios + android.

Don't had candy crush, subway surfer, minion rush (minion rush is coming soon, announced by Gameloft)

For user that switch from android to WP8:

thanks for the brief reply man.

based on your explainations it'd be awkward to not have plenty of services that android offers but on the less hardware demanding part,is a catch on, i guess a dual core 1ghz chip is good enough for wp os.

i hardly play games on phones generally, my main concern is more into social networking. anticipated to try windows phone.

Using Lumia 520(the youngest of the Lumia series) and is perfect for me. I am not very much into games and only use Facebook and viber and it is working perfectly for me. The battery lasts for 2 days or sometimes even more and this is a very good performance as compared to any other android at this price probably. It doesn't hang or lag like android. I love my L520.

Didn't check while driving but surely it is worth using when walking and it is difficult to find the place. And it tells the nearest bus stop and lrt stations as well. It is quite good. Why don't you go to Low Yat Plaza and check it yourself, I reckon you will love it.

In my point of view, offline search database is very wide, I can find any mediocre stores in Penang Island and Kedah without fail (yet to disappoint me blink.gif) but in terms of positioning accuracy, usually it's slightly off. So let's say there are two parallel roads close to each other, the chances are, your GPS might get confused. sad.gif

so far used the Nokia Drive a few times, offline and online. both working perfectly, with turn-by-turn voice navigation. around Klang Valley area and Klang. i'd say it's pretty good.

Here Drive+ tends to give some wrong turns that makes me go quite far instead of using a shorter road, for example there is a legal turn to the left, instead it asks me to turn right and make a U-turn doh.gif

actually same with google navigation they will always put you in long way rather than in short way to go to your destination.

Maybe try adjusting in the settings --> route optimization --> shorter route.

Havent really tested as mine by default is balanced optimization.

mine is already with that setting, just that sometimes it still gives you wrong turns, and you can end up taking wayyyy longer ways to reach your destination sad.gif

Okay, guess it's not that 'optimized'! Hope it improves with time then.

facebook has got a beta app that performs quite well, maybe not enough features such as organizing facebook pages, but there are other apps out there that does the job.

For twitter, there are many options of apps out there, but the official ones does the job, stable as well, and pleasant notifications!

About youtube, hmmm there's no hope for an official app that is really good, optimised as Google tends to block what Microsoft is doing. Yet again, there are good apps that are great such as Metrotube and mytube.
