Hello guys! Wow congrats on V3! Anyway, since I got four days off from Thurs till Sunday, I have been googling and searching around for an underwater camera. And off all my choices it came down to this particular camera that I like ;

Olympus tough TG-2

Has any sifus here used this camera instead of the popular go pro? And can anyone suggests me where to find a shop that sells underwater camera accessories shop in klang valley? The price of its underwater casing is soooo expensive! Almost the same price as the camera itself. Uwaaaaaaaaa

Please help me (buat2 muka compel minta tolong)

Well that is partly why the Gopro is popular smile.gif It is bundled with a dive housing, saving you from buying one.

Yup, but i am looking at something that can be used underwater and above the water. That is why i am looking at Olympus Tough TG2. But i will fall back to Go Pro if i dont have the budget. Something's gotta give hehe

You can check out Intova underwater cameras. It's one of the alternative for GoPro. Check post #2 for Rainbow Runner's shop details and contact. There are also other dive shops that are listed in post #2 that specialize in underwater photography products.

Generally, underwater housings cost as much as the camera. If you are looking at SLRs, most of the time the housing cost much more than the camera itself. Then there are also strobes, arms, this and that. So what's your rough budget?

Thanks munkeyflo for the recommendations. My budget is around RM1500 (camera plus underwater housing) I can get the Go Pros, but the thing is i want something that can be used underwater and above the water (daily use) hehehe. So still thinking..

I was quoted RM 11xx for the Olympus tough TG2 and RM 800 bucks for the underwater casing. GULP.. haha.

I see. Is there a reason you singled out the tough TG2 instead of other compact cameras? Are you looking for rugged compacts only?

I recently lost a camera to ribena spill cry.gif

i have done some research on the net, watched a couple of review videos on youtube, i came to a conclusion that Olympus Tough TG2 is the best among all rugged cameras. Yeah i am looking for a tough camera as i am very very clumsy. Always drop things at an alarming rate. hahaha.

Do you have any other suggestion? Care to share it with me?

Thanks

Hello sifu2 and i hope its not too late to wish everyone a happy new year!!!

Anyway, anyone here have gone to dive in krabi? Im going to krabi for 4days 3nights sometime mid march. Thinking of squeezing one day to dive. Done some research and boy, to dive there is expensive. Any tip or any cheaper dive center to recommend?

Thanks in advance!
