You wouldn't wanna lost your head when you ascending. It's safer to launch it at depth when you are lost.
*
would you rather lose your head or get cut into pieces but still remain alive for that few mins as u slowly die..

Which would you choose:
a) head cut off
b) lose limb and die
c) cut of stomach and die
d) drown and die.

You mitigate one type of risk while introducing another. Even experienced folks fumble with their DSMB deployments... what more for me, a noob who can't maintain a solid safety stop smile.gif So I'll stick to surface deployments first.

There are other things I can be mindful for now, like listen for boat motor, looking up and around, ascending in a vertical column to ensure my bubbles are above me, etc. Feel free to fill in pearls of wisdom.
*
make urself negative while deploying and keep practicing i guess. practice makes prefect.
i think its not the issue of buoyancy but more like steps to deploy a smb.
not sure cos i never deploy mine before tongue.gif

Hi people,

Just got my OW license ~ 3 weeks ago.
Sensei-s, where would be a good "training ground" for newbies like me ?
My buoyancy control is quite bad and i am quite a slow learner  laugh.gif
*
Dive more and will improve lor. if not can do pool dive. we are doing a pool dive session soon but EQ rental is about RM80.

Hi all,

I just completed the Padi OW license from Flora Bay Divers at Perhentian Island.

I should dive more first before take the AOW or just can directly take AOW?
*
Its really up to u. If u are comfortable with your buoyancy and uw why not.
its just like paying more and doing 5 leisure dives but with some learning scope only.

Are you for real? Quite sad.. now i have reduced budget for my newbie gears. cry.gif
Huh? kena from what?
Wow, your instructor is so strict..
I barely just able to maintain at 5m for 3mins..
*
safety stop is an important basic.. No doubt you will yoyo but should not face problems maintaining at the safety stop. Practice makes perfect.

I would not suggest u guys to take AOW if u have yet to get some understanding about ur buoyancy. Practice a little first and than go for ur AOW. If the instructor is strict u might not even pass if u dont have proper buoyancy.

Sorry sorry.. I guess he saw my post on apple byte.
No1 replied in almost 24hrs.. got too excited for a moment.
Hmm, alot of yoyo-ing.. between the 5m - 6m area.. i kept sinking.
my instructor literally gave me the "you better get your @rse up here look" - hope he's not active around here.

Thanks for advice.
I definitely need more practice before AOW(hopefully by next year).
Would love to join all of you if, you are ok with new divers.

PS: you guys reply too fast. I can't keep up.
*
