QUOTE(kjteoh @ Sep 19 2013, 12:30 PM) I have done the OW at Koh Tao, Thailand. In fact I have also taken the AOW, but since I have done not so good during the dives, so better stay with OW first. Wah how is koh tao? Its one of a place I wanna go and lepak. Seems like a relaxing place.QUOTE(wKkaY @ Sep 19 2013, 12:31 PM) Something that always confuses me is the term "macro". The word means BIG, but in the context of diving I hear it being used to refer to all the small critters I wonder also. Y is it called Macro while ur shooting something micro. But since all call it that I just follow. lol~ |

QUOTE(DrBarbarian @ Sep 23 2013, 09:29 AM) retractable antennas.... hmmm... that would be great if it's sturdy enough.... dun think can be used as tank banger and 'anchor' but great to point out minute critters..... Webbing not as bulky as reel la. just that very troublesome to keep after deploy.yeah... that's the webbing system I talking about.... bulky but still manage to fit into my smb bag.... another downside is it can only be deployed at 15ft(or watever length your line is)..... |

QUOTE(ChickenWing24 @ Sep 23 2013, 10:31 AM) Yeah, I'm actually looking for one. Just to get aa different opinion. Thanks for the suggestion. I would think its not advisable. How long would you get the signs before it happens? We may be underwater for 45-50min on average. Plus, what would the level of nitrogen or CO2(not breathing properly) do to your symptoms. Its a risk to consider. Better to get an approval from a doctor. There might be some instructors who would be willing to pick up the case for the $$ but that not what we encourage. Well, I'm on meds to keep it under control. With the meds I'm quite fine, unless I dun have enough sleep for few straight days. Plus, I kinda like can know when Im gonna get an attack. So from the way I see it, as long as I take my meds and have enough sleep I should be fine. I also have to make sure that I'm aware of all the signs before I do a dive. Sorry if we seems discouraging but we do not want to put someone's life at risk. We always "dive within our limits" |

QUOTE(ChickenWing24 @ Sep 23 2013, 10:56 AM) I'm actually quite confident since I've done it before in Bali. Plus, I've been in the water for almost all my life. But of course, I'm still gonna get the green light from a doctor first before taking the course. Worse case, snorkeling for the rest of my life. Okay. Good to know. Try to get a doctor who understands the sport well. Dun worry, I do appreciate all the advice given here. Heck, that is why I joined here in the first place - to hear if any of you guys had any experience with divers of my condition and such. |

List Of "Diving Doctors" in Malaysia
I only see 3 doctors in the list and not sure why the 3rd one is in there but he is in Labuan. These doctors are for non emergency cases (consultation). Not sure if there is more but the site was provided by DAN. Add this on 1st page? |
