Woo.. Chevrolet Sonic does 200Nm torque using 1.4L block. Sure need boost higher than 1 bar plus lag issue. But still a comparable car for Preve(not Suprima) compared to "others".  thumbup.gif
*
Not really, Chevy Sonic in Malaysia only has a 1.4L EcoTec with 100hp and 130Nm torque

So I finally manage to have a look at the Suprima S with my parents today. I think it met my standards of cars and I dont mind getting it once I have my driving license after SPM.. To those who said the leather seat is good, I asked my mom's opinion on it and she said that the leather is actually PU leather, nothing great about it..

Funny part, my parents ask the SA about the features of the car and he replied saying, go ask your son la, he knows better about the car than me.. haha

Its not PU leather le. I used to have a myvi installed with PU leather (aftermarket product) and it felt different than suprima's.
*
It feels like the Civic FD2's leather.. Which also doesnt feel like a real one

Your standard of cars? How do you have a standard without even driving before?
*
My standard: the very minimum is to have at least 6 airbags, auto headlights and wipers.. And who said I never drive before? I even test drove a car at a showroom before this.. brows.gif

Is the Suprima's security system on par with continental cars?

(Can only be stolen by hijacking, towing and break into house to get its keys)

GPS only functioning when the the SD Card with the map data is inserted, SA will provide you the SD card when you purchase the car.

Proton front sensor implementation is wonky at best, unlike other car, the front sensor is always on, or on at low speed; Proton's front sensor need to be turn on from a button on the dash.
*
Same as Volkswagen cars, need to press a button to activate front sensor..

Maybe they didn't turn on the auto headlight?
*
The car comes with it and u dont utilise it, for what? its not like using auto lights will use more fuel or drastically use the battery..

QUOTE(mystvearn @ Sep 6 2013, 07:06 AM)
It is very common to not use auto headlights. The accord have auto headlights, I still use the manual because, the auto cannot turn on the position lights during dusk/dawn time. The auto lights are either full or no light. It needs to be quite dark for it to on, so I rarely use the auto light.
*
During dusk, dawn theres no use for position lights anymore as the DRL's are sufficient..

The car comes with it doesn't mean have to use it.

I dont see any reason not to use it..

Its annoying actually seeing cars that has auto lights but the headlights is turned off even at 6:45am..

i vote for switching even it's auto headlights rather than no options to switch it off.
there's a time u dont need that lights auto-ON even in the dark..
*
Offcourse la must have option to turn off, I notice VW headlights if u leave home while it is still dark, the light stays ON even after 8 am when the sun is shining brightly already..

oh, so there was no issues if the car was not use the auto headlights rite.
it has a switch and you agree they should have it...settle.
*
Yep, no issue. Just that I like to see cars automatically switch on the lights when entering tunnels and basement parking.. Sense of premium...

Anyways, anyone thinking of changing the halogens to HID's since it already uses projector headlights?

Hi guys, just came back from test driving a Suprima S.

what i found out after test drive:

1. engine is a bit noisy, especially under acceleration. it also feels "lazy" somewhat. probably because i didn't use S (does it have a profiound effect?)
2. a slight delay from the point i release the brake to moving at traffic light  (normal Proton CVT trait?)
3. Rattling at driver side door. It went away when i lowered the window (car mileage 7126 kms)
4. steering a bit light. too light for my liking.

But, it's easily the most comfy Proton i've ever driven.
*
Steering light? Are u for real? rclxub.gif the steering is like driving a lorry weih! Other cars I can easily steer using 2 fingers. This suprima at low speeds / trying to park I can sweat controlling the steering wheel. So heavy..

Lol thanks, will do that
Anyways back to Suprima S thread, i tested out the new way of right foot save fuel efficient way and it seems it works. Will continue monitoring

Ps: previous car is a manual so did not really know how to save fuel on auto transmission

When filling up a full tank, reset the FC meter, drive until your fuel is near empty and report back its FC
