QUOTE(nairud @ Aug 21 2013, 05:33 PM) i sat into one also today during lunch. The HU, nothing to shout at. the touch feedback is a tad cheapo. feels like china made cheap android tablets. have to apply some pressure to let it sense that i want to drag the menu. System language can be changed but the clock widget on the HU cannot change its language. It's locked to BM, so today's Rabu instead of Wed. lol the screen is resistive, try use your nail when touching it

QUOTE(spikey2506 @ Aug 23 2013, 09:43 PM) Test drove the Suprima S last weekend. Here are my quick impressions: Fit and finish noticeably better than Preve and the whole car looks really good actually. Don't just look at the pictures, you need to see it yourself to appreciate it. The leather seats were really nice. Acceleration was impressive but ride was a bit hard, most probably due to the slightly harder suspension setup since it is a sporty car. Noticeably harder than Persona. Slight rattling sound heard from the shelf at the back. May need some dampening. The glove box was a bit hard to open, took me a while, so you guys better check on this if you are taking delivery later. Another one, to open the rear hatch, the switch is electronic, located near the pocket at driver's door. This is a departure from the usual cable type. Not sure why they went this way though as obviously I think the cable type is more reliable. Overall at that price point, it is a very very good buy I also test drove the Rio before and the Rio was a bit more refined with better fit and finish, although the Suprima wins in acceleration. I am aware that those two do not belong in the same class but just for the sake of comparison, I am stating the facts here. Cheers i had the same problem with the test car for the glove box, it is misaligned. you need to pull the lever, lift the glovebox up then pull it open

QUOTE(spikey2506 @ Aug 24 2013, 02:18 PM) Went to look again at the car today as it was on display at a local shopping mall. As I was opening the rear hatch via the switch, the whole switch assembly came out of the socket from the door! Had to push it inside again. It seems that the way the assembly is fixed to the door is quite flimsy. Damn it. Aiyo Proton Inb4 its not a switch

QUOTE(VerdictReview @ Aug 24 2013, 05:09 PM) I done test drive Suprima S. Apart from the rear exterior design kinda spoil sport feeling and the interior are not up to par but much better than Preve and also the name really bad marketing. I really amaze how well the handling really precise, the feedback is nice and I dare to push more while take sharp corner and the speed/pick up is smooth. Ask the dealer to drive on highway. I done in Mutiara Damansara up to Penchala Link. FYI I have Ford Focus, Ford Fiesta and Suzuki Swift at home but I must say the handling is up to par with those cars and actually I hate Proton but for this Suprima S my evaluation is: Performance 7/10 Handling 9/10 Comfort 8/10 Interior 3/10 Exterior 5/10 Is the interior that bad? I have Mazda3 and Civic and I can say it is on par and definitely better than better than Civic What makes you give the interior a 3? This post has been edited by SoZa: Aug 24 2013, 05:19 PM

QUOTE(VerdictReview @ Aug 24 2013, 05:22 PM) Yes new Civic is totally fail design I more favour on the previous Civic. I do compare with my Ford Focus it's not up to standard, really dull and so plain. Proton need to work out more on the interior design. I do love the leather seat feel premium I do agree the design is dull. I guess Malaysian taste like swoopy adventurous design like Hyundai and Ford.

QUOTE(VerdictReview @ Aug 24 2013, 05:50 PM) You done test drive Suprima S? Well worth take a ride. Test ride will be tomorrow, I however have molest the car thoroughly. I can say proton is really thoughtful on positioning nice feeling material on the touch points. My most favourite part is the soft leather in the car especially on the steering wheel

Yeah I guess proton is going VW ways. Clean timeless design

QUOTE(blau-saga @ Aug 29 2013, 02:25 PM) rear doesn't seem to be related, but front... very little to differentiate Suprima drl has some fault, the viewing angle is too narow, it need to be seen almost perpendicularly or it will not be seen And the tail lamp light guide is not bright enough and perhaps too small to be safely visible from distance

QUOTE(mystvearn @ Sep 5 2013, 04:06 PM) - GPS unit not working. Error screen come out. Not sure lack of that Yes wifi thing or because they did not install the antenna on the car. They purposely removed the antennas from all the cars they brought. Maybe afraid of theft or something. - Not sure front parking sensor working or not. Tried to creep at the car in front at traffic light. It is not proper parking, that is for sure. Did not manage to trigger the sound even though I see the sensor display on the screen showing the car distance. Maybe the sensors are for front corners, rather than totally at the front. GPS only functioning when the the SD Card with the map data is inserted, SA will provide you the SD card when you purchase the car. Proton front sensor implementation is wonky at best, unlike other car, the front sensor is always on, or on at low speed; Proton's front sensor need to be turn on from a button on the dash.

QUOTE(dares @ Sep 10 2013, 10:59 PM) I wonder why since Proton went for the electronic boot release, they didn't also put a button on the hatch itself like Contis and certain Japanese cars. Even the Myvi have a (cable operated) latch on the hatch so that users can open the boot without having to use the remote or open the driver side door. Just a personal preference. Probably if Proton did that they will be bashed as well when ppl complain the boot will then be able to be opened from the outside.... I think if electronic boot release to operate with button on the hatch, the car need to be unlock or the remote have proximity sensor. If you need to unlock the car, why don't just press the button on the FOB? Or if you are from inside the car, need to get stuff in the boot, why don't you just press the button while you are inside the car? The system need some time for user familiarising
