Developing cars has become crazily expensive. RM 200 million is a surprisingly low amount IMHO. Most brands can't survive alone, they have to distribute the development costs on a very high number of cars. And Proton is a tiny player only selling in a small market, and at ridiculously low prices. How are they supposed to compete? I don't think Proton can afford to develop engines for example. They can't create something competitive. That would be too expensive.

Exactly! Those are malaysian!
If signal lights are OPTIONAL, I believe they would have choose not to buy it as it will save weight.. Reduce chances of bulb spoilt.. And become aquarium (proton case)
