Just attended the launch at Publika. Phone is indeed very snappy despite S 600 processor only. It has more features than HTC1. Will elaborate further after tests. Price is rm2499 but for today only I paid rm2099 for it. Will post more info over next few days. Phone feels slight heavier than my XZU. Back can removed for simcard n external SDCARD card
Will post my impression vs XZU n Note 3

It is plastic with metallic feel n finishing
This phone hardware build is way better than HTC1:
- power button is firm n now at mid right handside. HTC1 poorly located at top n button is wobbly n sink down over time with excessive use.
-as HTC1 design outlook same which seriously I had never like. I feel the speakers looks like an afterthought pasting on front. I still prefer it hidden below casing as per Butterfly. This phone n HTC1 design had never attracted me
- NO gap issues at all
- there is a small catch at LHS which you need press down to lift off cover. Need extreme care lifting it out as back cover is fragile ( worse than even Note3 n S4).
- Boom speakers quality is excellent n must say is BEST I have heard to date.
- Fingerprint recognition I would say is average. It doesn't pick up immediately n probably is my own fingers problem. I have problems too getting it recognize at first go in the banks n immigration counter. Will be exploring this feature further

Overall I love the feeling holding it in my hands n beats the XZU n Note3.
Noted that as per HTC1, Sensation n OneX the app drawers scrolling is not seamlessly smooth unlike XZU n Note3. There is still very very slight jerkiness but still acceptable
Blinkfeed features more improved . Now you can add in your own feeds n I read is new feature in Sense 5.5. As before very very slight jerkyness too in scrolling up down the screen. There is now a handy feature at top to disable this as main homescreen.

Just finished installing 150 apps lastnight n will be testing it thoroughly next few days
And as said earlier it only support FAT32 formatted 64gb external SDcard class 10.

ACTUAL PACKAGE IN BOX : Charger ( 1.5A), Headset, USB cable and a semi hard plastic clear backcase

Some photo shots , all taken using phone default settings. Decent quality and definitely not top class
This phone does not have the purple tint ( in low light) or pinkish tint in background unlike HTC One

Here are some of the benchmarks recorded. As expected this phone loses out to the S800 chip found in Xperia Z Ultra and Note 3. Gamers might find this phone to be slight disappointing in performance. Anyway I don't play any of those high end games except Scrabble mainly. Other than that this phone can easily match the other two in general usage and seriously did not notice it to be any significant slower than the other 2 phones in other tasks

AnTuTu : 26525 vs 32005 ( note 3) and 31376 ( XZU)

Quadrant : 12454 vs 20947 ( Note 3) and 18531 ( XZU)

NenaMark2 : 60.5 fps vs 60.3 fps ( Note 3) and 60.0 (XZU)

Vellamo - HTML5/Metal : 2574/761 vs 2797/1077 ( Note 3) and 2950/1125 ( XZU)

3D Mark Ice Storm Extreme : 6968 vs 18234 ( Note 3 on IS Unlimited as Extreme was deemed too low n figure exceeded its limits) and 10891 ( XZU)

GeekBench 2 : 2978 vs 4054 ( Note 3) and 3697 ( XZU)

GFX Bench on Egypt HD Offscreen : 4698/42fps vs 7648/68fps on Note 3 and 6746/60 fps on XZU

This I agree.

Dunno what HTC thinking about.

HTC One Max:

  • Previous generation S600 processor.
  • Bad finger print design.
  • No uni body like One, but follow One Mini design.
  • No OIS camera.
  • No Beat Audio

and dare HTC sell RM 2,499.00, HTC is really waiting for bankrupt!

this is the first time i agree with you laugh.gif

they try to increase their profit margin with s600 blah blah but how is it possible on a semi-decent product... sweat.gif

How bout battery, is it better than note 3? I believe the s600 shud play some part here.
Charging time shud be acceptable with the 1.5v charger

Battery is still new but today I recorded 7.5 hours SOT with 5% battery life left. Seems is better than Note3 by one hour on similar type of usage : 3g on always n 80% time on internet stuffs - browsing, email, newsfeed, tweeter, Facebook with several calls/SMS n YouTube about half hour
I only use my ipad 2.1A charger to charge all my gadgets. Charging time about 2.5 hours from about 5%

7.5 hrs is very impressive. If my Z1 can last that long I will be very happy.
