QUOTE(madman20 @ Aug 5 2013, 09:37 AM) Long time no post here..but I have to share this now As some of you know, I posted about memory card issues in the last version of the thread (I think =s)..I assumed it was my SanDisk memory card causing problems and here's a recap and update Very long story » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « After getting the Galaxy S4, I got myself the SanDisk 32gb Memory card (for Android phones)
Started using and find out that the phone occasionally drops the card and I was not able to take photos and store on the SD card..the card date also resets to 01/01/1970 (even though it was formatted in the phone on a date of 2013)
After searching online and finding that SanDisk had issues with their cards..I gave up and used my Samsung 8GB Class 2 memory card from my previous phone and abandon the SanDisk into my table
I formatted (via the phone) and had no issues with this card..however..8gb wasn't sufficient for me as I require to snap photos/videos for my job (I'm too lazy to carry a digicam as it's bulky)
I decided to get a Kingston 16Gb Class 10 memory card for the phone.
The night I got it..I formatted the card (via the phone as usual) after slotting in..and copied over all my photos, it all went well.
The next morning I wake up to see a notice of "SD Card unexpectedly remove" and I wasn't able to access the card since the card "wasn't there" even though physically in the slot
I removed and re-slotted the card and the phone doesn't detect..
I removed the Kingston, and slotted in the Samsung and it was okay
I went to office to try access the card via laptop and the office printer with memory card reader..the card can't be read..
So I sent back to the shop and was lucky to get a 1-to-1 exchange of the memory card..
Immediately I slot in the new card and formatted it via the phone..that same day..at night I tried taking a photo..guess what?
"Unable to write file in SD Card. Storage Switched to Device Storage"
Fine..I restarted the phone and it was okay..this morning I took another photo and the same error popped up..
I restarted the phone, it worked awhile and then it failed again..
I can still access the card and view previously taken photos..but I'm not able to copy/move files(photos/documents/mp3) from the phone to the card
Anyone experiencing the same issues? I had problems with Sandisk Class 10 32Gb before. Occasionally unmounted on its own. Later the card totally cannot be detected on phone and PC. Cannot reformat also. I have given up on Sandisk. Now I'm using Samsung Class 10. So far so good
